Handling huge ships bank collisions

By dotswarlock, in X-Wing Rules Questions

How do you guys handle huge ship collisions when they involve bank manoeuvers (EDIT) with other huge ships? Move forward and turn? Turn and move forward? A “best guess” somewhere in the middle?

It was not that much of an issue when huge ships were firing long distance shots across the map, but ordnance tubes promise to introduce close quarter fighting between huge ships. Different methods can lead to a different number of crushed small/large ships and huge ships being deadlocked or not.

The huge ships rules say to check page 17 of the core rulebook, but while this works with maneuvering templates, it’s a bit harder with the huge ship templates when bank manoeuvers are involved (considering that everything has been moved to the rules reference and FAQ, it also seems outdated).

Place template.

Remove any obvious collisions.

Mark any ships that might get hit and move the aside.

Place huge sip in final position.

Return any ships marked. If they don't fit the collided as well.

Remember to move a ship you do not slide it on the table. You lift it up and put it down.

If you overlap a huge ship, slide the movement template under the ship then slide your huge ship backwards. For 2 banks first turn the ship around the back corner of the appropriate bank tab until you can slide its front Base back towards the notch
