Evilest List Ever?

By darthlurker, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've now flown the following list 5 times and have been happy with its performance, though not necessarily the results. Here is the list I call Can't Touch This:

100 points

Dark Curse

Omega Leader with Juke and Comm Relay

Zertik Strom with Veteran Instincts, title and Sensor Jammer

Carnor Jax with Push the Limit and Autothrustors

Dark Curse tends to be completely ignored (and rightly so) while I ram Strom down the enemy's throat to be a nuisance. If Jax is well-positioned then Strom also becomes effectively immortal with sensor jammer (and his 5 hit points and 3 agility), while also enabling Omega Leader to get decent damage output even against ships he hasn't locked. My goal in flying the list is to get either Omega Leader or Carnor Jax to the endgame, so I'm generally quite cavalier with Strom and Dark Curse.

So far I've faced 5 different lists and only lost one match, which was against what I believe to be the list's hardest counter: Chiraneau with VI, EU, Vader and Gunner, accompanied Whisper ( the double-Vadering every turn got a lot of my ships killed quickly due to multiple direct hits, though I still managed to take down Whisper). Overall I find Omega Leader to be a surprisingly effective ace hunter even with his relatively low pilot skill as I had him finish off a 5-hull Fat Han as well used him to hunt down Vader while Vader was trying to finish off Jax by only spending target locks on the attack. In one match against Miranda my opponent got perfect attacks against Omega (who could only roll 1 evade or fewer) but even then I managed to drop her on the turn Omega died due to simultaneous fire and the rest of my list managed to clean up the lower PS grunts. Opponents would be wise to focus on Omega Leader first because in a 1-on-1 situation the only thing that can save you are awesome dice rolls, but then again you don't want to be facing a higher-PS interceptor in the endgame, or have your range 1 dice canceled by Strom every turn, so it's a list of difficult choices for the opponent.

I'll probably end up swapping VI on Strom for Crackshot to up his damage output a bit. IThe PS boost doesn't really matter too much as my most dangerous ships are already PS8.

My friends have already expressed great displeasure after facing this list, and one has said that he refuses to play against it again after just one match.

So what do you consider to be the evilest, most friendship-breaking list you've ever played?

Hahaha. Dude i posted a list exactly like this (not mad just think it's great we both thought about it). And yes it is evil...very evil. The only change i made to mine is running zertik with Mk2 Engine instead of VI. Helps defend against the stress meta (somewhat). Crackshot could also be possible on him. My question to you is how do you like to set up on the board. Since we both fly the same list i would like to compare notes.

Stay Frosty.

Funny that . Actually in one of my matches I faced a stresshog and Zertik ended up with 3-4 stress, but as he had SJ and was usually in range 1 of the Y-Wing it didn't even remove more than a shield from him. It was annoying to not be able to k-turn or do a hard-2 and barrel roll to keep nearby, but it wasn't too bad. Of course, this was after I killed a bandit and traded Omega Leader for Miranda, so it was fairly easy for Carnor to outflank the Y and wear it down. After that it was just a question of hunting down the Green Squadron A-Wing.

As for set up, I generally try to made it so that Dark Curse and Zertik Strom joust with the enemy list so they're usually side-by-side and in a corner, often touching my edge of the table if my opponent has higher PS as it gives an extra turn before combat for the others to get into position. I sometimes put Omega Leader behind them or alone and near the middle, with Jax further towards away to try and flank. I generally prefer to enclose enemy ships from multiple angles as the list has multiple abilities that only work at range 1. I'll try to keep Omega Leader at range 3 when Dark Curse and Strom get into range 1. I'll then play Carnor as a flanker against lower PS or simply stick him in place where his bubble is unavoidable (maybe even bump-inducing) with focus+evade as most aces depend on having those tokens and they can easily die without them.

The most evil list I ever fought against:

M3-A Interceptor: Serissu (20)

HWK-290: Torkil Mux (24)

Ion Cannon Turret (5)

Z-95 Headhunter: Binayre Pirate (14)

Feedback Array (2)

Z-95 Headhunter: Binayre Pirate (14)

Feedback Array (2)

Z-95 Headhunter: Binayre Pirate (14)

Feedback Array (2)

Z-95 Headhunter: Binayre Pirate (14)

Feedback Array (2)

Total: 100/100

I about flipped the table about half way through the fight.

Dude, that's nasty.

Tempted to borrow this list for an upcoming Store Championship... :-D

Aces must drop quickly against that if they get too close... It's similar to a SableGryphon list that I've been meaning to try (swap Serissu for another feedback Z, upgrade them all to PS3 and add Greedo to the HWK). Did you find Serissu to be really that useful/annoying? I mean, I've rerolled blanks into blanks with scum Boba on so many occasions that I could never imagine using that ability seriously unless it's with glitterstim.

This list isn't mine, but Serissu seemed to work for him. With Mux dropping one pilot down to 0, he only has to help defend against one or two attacks. Even just preventing a few damage is game ending against this list.

All he needed to do was predict where you're going (which he is annoyingly good at), clog up that area, then cause bump city, Mux the ship that bumped down to 0, and you're dead before it gets a shot off. And yes, my aces list just melted to this list.

You have no good options to shoot at it this list. You go after Mux, and the swarm blocks you and fries you. If you try shooting the swarm down, Mux will drop you to 0, and all Serissu needs to do is help defend against one or two attacks. I know, I've tried both ways.
