Conjurer Vortex - big monsters

By Scharpes, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

a question just came up in our campaign:

when moving monsters witht the conjurer's vortex skill, does the hero decide how big monsters "expand" or can the OL decide?

Would be great if someone has a swift answer on this!

Cheers!

Hero is moving the monster, hero decides how it moves, including expansion.

Great, thats how we interpreted it, analogue to the crosbow's ability.

Thanks for the swift confirmation!

1.If vortex cause monster pass some terrain or terrain-like effect and suffer damage in first moving-space , does it need to expand firstly ?

2.Does Master Golem suffer 2 dmg by vortex ?

No and no. The master golem can ignore the game effect that would cause it to move- it can ignore vortex. Also, it would not be included when the card says "those monsters".

Can these moved monster pass through hero ?

No, unless the monster in question has some innate ability to move through heroes. You are moving the monsters, not removing and placing them.

Can moved monsters pass through other unmoveable monsters (like Master Stone Golem)?

Yes, in general monsters can move through friendly figures such as other monsters regardless of the effect that caused the monster to move. However, in some quests explicitly state that certain figures might block movement.

In addition, there are some effects in the game that radically change the "alignment" of figures. If an effect includes something like "as if it were a monster" or "as if it were a hero" the figure to that such an effect is applied behaves like a monster/hero for the duration of the effect. Among other things this changes the movement behavior. For example a dark-charmed hero is treated as a monster and may move through other monsters but not through other heroes.
