Slipperly MC30's

I'm planning on using this list in a local tournament happening in a few weeks.

The idea is to make the MC30's as hard to hit as possible by utilising Mon Mothma, ECM's and Foresight (on one of them) I then plan on getting as close as I can with them and unleashing hot firey death... Any comments would be appreciated.

I would consider Jan Ors or HWK, for Intel. I also an initiative bid is a good idea (10pts) when running MC30s as you want the chance of zooming in, in your last activation, getting off a shot, then activating the same ship first, and shooting again at the same enemy ship. That will leave most ships dead, or nearly dead!

I would drop the gunnery teams as I don't think you will have 2 ships in close range that often.

Maybe use Ord Exp instead or use the points for a bid or HWK

Assault proton torpedoes are excellent on MC30s. Nothing like flipping a projector misaligned and stripping your target's shields before totaling damage, or before Defiance can blast away at the same, now undefended, hull zone with its main battery.

I concur that Gunnery Teams are of limited use on the Torpedo Boats. Ordnance Experts for the win, or use APT's or ACM's. To be honest, I am not sold on the ECM's either as you have 2 of each token.

Drop both ECM's and put Admonition and Walex Blissex on the second MC-30. With Mothma, you will get much better survival rates.

This is not a fleet that stands off so use your tokens on the way in and close fast.

This is what I am looking at with a similar fleet. Max survival is engaged. Medium fighter support to delay what I can.

Thanks guys, will take a look at removing the gunnery team.

Tried to use this list against a Imperial list of:

1. 1 x ISD 2 w. Motti

2. 1 x GSD Demolisher

3. 1 x Raider

4. Squadrons -

2 × Adv TIE

1 x TIE

1 x Sontur Fel

1 x Major Rhymer

2 x TIE Bomber

Totally owned my in one game. His Demolisher just blocked my MC80 and I can't clear the GSD. Then his ISD just hammered me to death.

In both games the MC30s can't bring down the ISD fast enough. May kill the raider or GSD and he was wise to move around the black dice range.

Just sharing.

That's the problem with taking MC30 heavy lists against an ISD motti lists, MC30s are designed to kill quick, if they can't do that they just die in a multi round engagement. And burning down a motti ISD is just to much.
