APT in the T70 pack
It's a bit of a pricey, one-off, situational combo, but it could work.

A similar combo is Guri + Deadeye + ETP. Focus to fire, and use the focus you gain from being in R1 to convert.
Add Guidance Chip for even more effect.
Edited by Dr ZoidbergIt is lethal, but it's also very expensive - Advanced Proton Torpedoes are the most expensive piece of ordnance out there at the moment, and Cool Hand is essentially making it a point more expensive. A Red Squadron Veteran with that setup costs 35 points - in the region of a lot of elite aces - and suffers from a relatively low pilot skill (which is an issue when trying to use a range 1 weapon.
Targeting Astromech does make torpedos a lot more useable on a T-70, but I think advanced torps are a step too far - they're best used on either Major Rhymer or Guri, to my mind.
Or possibly Deadeye/E2/Recspec Nera, who at least can use EM to get more value out of the APTs and can 360.
by far nobody but bat-wedge didn't do good with that SUPEREXPENSIVE ordnance.
Just looking for reasons that APT was included with the t70... one good tallon roll and you can wax a ship...

So tempting, and ridiculously expensive. But when it works, it's beautiful.
They are pretty good in Epic play. Throw 2 bombers with APT in a Gozanti with that PS8 title and Fleet Officer.
2x PS8 bombers with TL+Focus at Range 1 and they can't be arc dodged as they deploy last after Gozanti has moved.
Did 10 damage on the first round to Boba, which he evaded 2 of those.
Sure APT has little use in normal 100p dogfights though.. Major Rhymer would be awesome, but he's so **** expensive.
I think you could only justify APT on a Two torpedo slot ship and use Extra Munitions for 2 points bring the price down to 4 a piece.
I haven't tried it yet but I was going to either field Nera Dantels + FCS + EM + APT or Keyan Farlander + AdvSys + EM + APT in a game this weekend just to give them a try.

adding Guidance Chimps for 0 pts makes it a "near certainty" to landing 5 hits with at least 1 being a crit
