2 Whales 1 Harpoon

By Hawk007, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I’ve had success with this fleet against full ship builds as well as heavy imp squadron builds (haven’t played a heavy rebel squadron). I’ve had initiative ¾ times. I’m 4-0 so far any thoughts? I have a store game coming and wanted to plan for it. Any help is appreciated!

Only problem I see is if a fighter gets pasted your Awings and heads to jan she wont be able to support the Awings as well. Good fleet overall though, would personally switch the Quads for defiance, but either works.

A-Wings outrun Jan. I would just go with Tycho over her.

So the way I've been running it my squadrons have always been bunched together with Jan closest to my ship (i.e. furthest from enemy squadrons). She has died but she's never been the first or second squadron to die. I used Defiance the first round through but one of my ships died to bombers and the game was a lot closer than I wanted it to be. I've found that QLT gives me the chance to kill interceptors attacking my ship in one round (if I land two hits while attacking them, and then 1 hit while they counter). While that doesn't happen often, it's happened once per game.

I like Tycho. However, I've never had a problem keeping the Awings 1) within range of Jan, and 2) within range of my ship. They're not there to dive into an enemy squadron force. They're in this build to meet enemy squadrons who attack my ships either from close or medium range. So I get squadron counters, ship counters, squadron attacks, and ship attacks. I've taken out 8 squadrons in 2 rounds with 1 ship, and 4 squadrons (it was lucky as hell because my opponent ignored my squadrons and just attacked my ship, I engaged and reaped destruction).
