Who CAN'T Use The Force?

By Farseerixirvost, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Aside from droids, is there any species or races (or any other "category" of PC) that can not use the Force?

We are about to start a F&D game and I'm going to open CharGen to all 3 books (actually all books) plus the fan-made species document for choosing a species.

Only Droids can NEVER gain a Force Rating. No species starts with a Force Rating either, so any PC other than a Droid must either START in an FaD career, or take either Force Sensitive Exile/Emergent to gain Force Rating 1.

Also buying the 'Force Rating' Talent at the bottom of of the trees doesn't actually give a character Force Rating 1. That talent is a 'Force Talent' and no benefit can be gained from a Force Talent without Force Rating 1.

Just Droids

Only one Hutt in existence in the EU but it be funny to see one flipping through the air with hawk Bay swoop manuver

Thus far, only Droids cannot attain a Force Rating.

While the trait may not be common in a number of species, even in Legends was it by no means impossible for any of the other publishes species to have Force-sensitive individuals.

In fact, going by Legends the only species that had zero opportunity to become Force-sensitive were the Vong. Every other species was fair game where becoming a Force user was concerned.

Yeah, if you did digging in the EU, there were a handful of races where it was rare, such as the Feeorin, Chiss, Gen-Dai, Faleen, Ssi-Ruuk, Zeltrons, and a few others, and there were some races that, even when they did, the Jedi weren't too keen on training them; the Zeltrons, for instance, are, by their nature, fun-loving, hedonistic people, and not often of a mindset to refrain from "living it up". The Jedi might've kept an eye on these, to make sure they didn't do anything terrible, but they weren't, at least in my opinion, running at top speed to grab them, and make them Padawan of the Year. Despite the BS that became the Chiss, over video games, some later books, and what not:

The Chiss had no business being in SWTOR, other than being another race that looks almost human, making the character builder happy, and no one in that time frame likely knew of the Chiss Ascendancy. When Thrawn got to the Empire, no one knew what race he was, except for the Emperor, and official sources just said "humanoid", or unknown, for several years, back in the 90's, but one video game made them all the bartenders, for no good reason. Okay, I'm done whining about this, sorry. Probably my favorite race, is all.

I seem to recall that when Thrawn arrived, he had no idea what "the Force" was, and it wasn't a thing among his people.

As for CAN'T, in EU, I think it's only the Yuuzhan Vong and the Rakata, and the current, limited canon, I think it is just droids. Many species are "rare as Rok's teeth" with it, but only those few are incapable.

I had the same reaction to the presence of Chiss in SWTOR. Not to mention Mon Cal and a freaking Ewok... I enjoy the game, but **** sometimes it makes me wince.

Chiss and Ewok's I can understand (though It doesn't bother me), but what's the problem with having Mon Calamari in SWTOR?
