Monday Night X-Wing TV

By KrisSherriff, in X-Wing

One thing. When your not showing the game, instead of just showing a screen, it would be better if you said something like next battle in 10 minutes, and give a count down.

I saw 4 people pop on when you were between games and leave, because they thought there were no more.

Also, loved the QA session.

That was an issue that was going to be addressed in my pre-show prep as I had that image as a place holder.

Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the entire scene for Game 1 2 hours before ewe went live and had to make it all from scratch again...

I have stuff planned for this Monday to make improve as many aspects as I can.

I don't want to give to much away before the show airs but there should be a minimum of "dead air" this time.

It was your first run Kris. Weird things will pop up, unexpected issues, and so on. As you go on and make more and get more experience with it, you'll have it down to a science.

I think for a first run, you did a darn fine job!

I'm almost through watching the first game and just wanted to let you know I'm really enjoying the format. The commentary is spot on. My only critique is that I think the dice cam should be from directly overhead (which I think you said in stream is being looked into) and that the graphic overlay is a bit much (just my own opinion)

All in all, I look forward to next week's show!

I think you get too much glare from the overhead view. But I do not know for certain with Kris' setup.

I am going to play around with the Dice Cam to see if I can improve the angle. Top down can be worse, as was seen at worlds but the angle was just off and would have liked it a little higher.

The Overlay I have an Idea to tone it down a little and will be working on that today and tomorrow.

At the moment the schedule for the show it;
Wednesday - Start harassing players for who can play and get the rough timings for games and who is playing who. (Working from home)

Thursday - Gather Lists and start building overlays/work out talking points for each list. (Working from home)

Friday - Finalise Overlay/ Work on Filler content/ Discuss the plans with Greg to see if there is anything he wants in on/ Start the marketing (In the store so have other tasks like setting up for FNM and stuff)

Saturday - Research talking points to ensure we are as unto date as possible/ gather images for any analysis desk segments (In Store)

Sunday - Confirm with players/guests/ kick marketing up a notch/ Work on my notes for Hosting (In Store)

Monday - Panic/Set Up the Set/Panic/Sound and Video Test/ Panic/ Go Live (In Store)

Tuesday - Editing and Post/ Upload/ Market the Upload (Working form Home)

Thats enough spoilers though, stop distracting em and let me get back to work on the show :P

I guess I would add that perhaps a smaller dice cam window, or a different placement, would be preferable. I thought it covered too much of the screen/game when it popped up. On the other hand it was easy to see the dice results, so maybe I'm off.
