I was thinking of the following list. Trouble is that to get the good pilots it is pretty light on upgrades. Should punch quite well and be hard to kill though as 2 of the 3 regenerate while Asty can arc dodge quite easily.

That leaves me one point free for an EPT. VI on Poe?

Ooof. It hurts to give up Autothrusters on a ship with 7 HP and 2 Agility.

VI on Poe is pretty much what everyone does these days...

when I ran this I used Blue Ace and he outlasted Poe. Ello is a better fit for my style of play.

Why not add Cool Hand to Poe and protect him from the stresshog?

Doesn't work. Poe should have his focus token in the activation phase, and the stresshog doesn't make him spend it. At the end of the turn, he discards it and if he's heavily stressed, he won't be able to get a new one.

Gaining a focus token mid-way through the combat phase isn't especially useful.

It isn't bad on poe - because it means he can have a focus token after pulling a koiogran turn or talon roll - but I suspect predator or veteran instincts will do you better.
