Sorry, just to be even more annoying about it:
Hey , anyone seen this film The Force Awakens? I hear it has a black actor and a female lead. Must not be very good. Probably a box office flop.

Edited by RodafowaEvery terrible Hollywood movie that fulfilled its racial quota of white leading characters...so 95% of movies.we've seen far too many good films spoiled by racial\ethnic quotas already.
Care to provide an example of this?

Have you read the book where he crashes his ship into a rebels freighter, gets out and slaughters everyone? Pretty good moment.imagine Vader bashing his ship with lightsaber and throwing chunks at foe >_>
It's good stuff.
Have you read the Vader Down story that's just run in the comics? Short version - Vader crashes his ship on a moon, a WHOLE BIG BUNCH of Rebel troops try to capture/kill him, Vader defends his title as reigning King Badass Of The Universe.

Vader Down>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rebels. I wish they'd swap the tone of the news comics with Rebels.
Seriously though. TFA has got plenty of problems. None of them are to do with the race or gender of its cast.
Weeell, you could maybe sort of say that casting the black guy as the stumbling insecure funny sarcastic character is a little bit...Wayans/Tucker/Rock-y. ![]()
Crew upgrades honeslty don't seem to give the sense of BEING the pilot. Or BEING the one who is flying or role playing as the character. (Except if youre old and smelly. Then you can RP as Palpy). Cuz cmon. Let's be honest, what's the name of the shuttle pilot: Palpshuttle.
Imagine Isaard sleeping on a decimator
Suddenly the shields go down, a cockpit is wreathed in fire, Chiraneau is about to become a splat of blood on the screen, catching the "IGNORE PILOT EPT AND CARD TEXT" crit
Moff surges out, throwing Vader in the way of teh blast, closing the gaping hole to save chiraneau,
isard gets thrown down from the bed by the explosion, gets up screaming and bashes the steersman until the deci gets an evade token.
Nah, crew are fun in the way they act
imagine Vader bashing his ship with lightsaber and throwing chunks at foe >_>

Still nothing beats chewbakka who's so awesome they had to drop a freaking MOON on him.
And even then, despite all the odds he was more badass than any forse user mary sissy sue

Indeed.
The worst of them each character being "original trilogy character wannabe"
with "empire wannabe"
"deathstar wannabe"
"vader wannabe"
and many characters getting 4 text lines, minute of screen time and getting into trash compactor
Omnipresent quota is sadly also there.
I'm getting all nostalgic about the times a princess that was to be saved turned out to be a PvP monster (no, really, she scored more blaster-frags than even Chewie!)
Without being pompous about that. trash compacted

I'm not ENTIRELY sure that Torture-Bot and his pal Murder-Droid make it into Disney's cartoon for thirteen-year-olds, but I do agree with you in spirit.Vader Down>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rebels. I wish they'd swap the tone of the news comics with Rebels.
Avatar/Korra covered(among other things) homosexuality, genocide, depression, suicide, existentialism, adultery, environmentalism...I think 13 year olds can handle a sadistic robot. Hell, I saw Akira at 8 on the Sci-Fi channel and turned out relatively fine. Rebels is Dora the Explorer compared to the 'kids' shows worth watching.

Back to the OPs topic. My friend has a list for each faction he calls' "Girls Night Out". Though not competitive at World's level are still playable for casual combat. Maybe even for store tourney.
fingers crossed for a Captain Phasma that does something other than get compacted in Ep VIII ![]()
better yet, put her in a Tie/FO ![]()

Korra covered those things, but not very well
(ugh that second season)
I hear Stephen Universe does it all pretty well, though

I didn't mean kids couldn't handle it, I meant Disney wouldn't sign off on it. Hey, I'd have loved 000 and BT when I was a 13!

If Nick can do it, Disney should...Sorry, what are 000/BT?

If only it was all as good as season 1.....
*sigh*

Empire clearly needs Ciena Ree. Clearly.
...Please?
I'm SO far off topic now, so I'm going to quietly shut up and go away after this, but - they're the protocol and Astromech droids who're working with Professor Aphra in Darth Vader/Vader Down.If Nick can do it, Disney should...Sorry, what are 000/BT?
My bad. I just call them murderbots. About the topic? I've had 3/40ish female pilots at my squadron, so Xwing is ahead of the curve ![]()
Anyone else disturbed by the new way of thinking that everything needs to be quotas?
Sadly a lot of Star Wars materiel was written in a time in which woman as action stars were thought to be unsellable. There just aren't many notable women in space combat roles. But I don't believe that skipping over more famous pilots to fill an imagined quota is the answer.
If anything creating quotas for women pilots is highly insulting to women, as it creates a system were their own merits are put second to being a woman.
Btw, Howlrunner is my waifu.

A meritocracy would be ideal but since we live in such enlightened times, it is 2016 after all, you need to ensure that everyone gets a piece of the pie. Unless of course they are gluten free vegans then they need their own pie to make sure everything is fair and everyone is happy.
