Smart Price Imperial Aces

By Rodafowa, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've let myself get stupidly excited about a few of the Empire's new options that are just on the horizon, and threw together what I hope is a pretty solid list.

ET VOILA!

Obvious problems are PS9+ aces, but the Gamma Vet gives a bit of soft control there by locking the scariest enemy ace early and daring them to wander into her firing arc. Plus the Inquisitor is obviously trying to lurk at R3 where his arc is nice and wide and hard to dodge. Everyone is PS4 or higher and so the list stands a decent chance of knocking out a TLT/Stresshog before it even gets to fire.

Comments? I'm kind of tempted to take the Gamma Vet down to a regular Gamma (losing Crack Shot in the process) to turn the Inquisitor's Tracers into Prockets.

Its a nice eclectic list. The gamma vet is a good addition because it will give those high PS aces something to think about. Also, for catching them, don't be afraid to use any of your ships as a blocker. Inquisitor is actually your best blocker thanks to push the limit and BR + boost.

As for the question about proton rockets vs. s-thread tracers....You might be right about downgrading the gamma vet simply because the s-thread tracers might not benefit him sometimes (if he happens to be R1 or R2 from the target when you fire them, he can't get the free TL due to LRS). On the other hand, crack shot makes that homing missile even more effective. Maybe try it as is and see if the s-thread tracers and LRS are easy to work around, and then if they are becoming problematic, make the switch...
