Gladiator Punch

By Seriaph, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hey chaps! Another fleet I wanted to get some feedback on. This is a little out of my comfort zone, I'm not naturally someone who runs fragile fleets with little margin of error required. I understand it's low on squadrons, but I figure that they'll be enough to tie up enemy fighters or demolish unprotected/lightly protected bomber squadrons.

Let me know what you lads think, what kind of strategies might be good for a fleet like this (keeping out of harms way or dealing optimal damage), and if you have any criticisms / thoughts for improvement.

First thing, I get giddy when I see someone put their commander on the weakest shield ship, maybe move screed to a Glad? Also, Assault Proton Torpedoes are 2 pts cheaper and do an auto face up. That saves you 8 pts, that I would use to change the jumpmaster to IG88, assassin extraordinaire. Of course after the Maths, I realize that you would be 1 pt short for IG88, so maybe change out Mauler for a tie interceptor. This would give another 4 dice (with re-roll, gotta love swarm) against those pesky rogue squads. I don't think that changes your dynamic much, but realize that you don't really have a carrier, so you may need to fall back to a glad doing squad commands. Not the end of the world, but something to keep in mind. Just my 2 pennies, but overall I like the setup. Similar to my style of play.
