Didn't hear about this until seeing this thread. I am not sure how this works for the game just yet but hoping that the movie will be awesome

When I was reading the books, there were times I felt like if I read "Corran's green eyes narrowed" one more time I would set fire to them. Although Michael A. Stackpole did his research with the books and got the EU feel right, he was never the best writer. Certainly no Alan Dean Foster. The plots and characters also felt like something out of the Icewind Dale novels. His Battletech novels were better (or I seem to recall that).

Yeah, I think their official abilities would be fine. They would play differently given the X-Wing's dial and possible upgrades, but would still feel familiar. Tycho in an X-Wing would fly very differently to Tycho in a X-Wing, but would still bring the potency of his ability.

On another page, i really like Rogue squadron, but i wouldn't want to see another Rebel PS9 pilot stuck on an X-Wing, unless they fixed it for real this time!

Umm, i really don't want to sound like a grammar-nazi here, but i think the sentence on the card should read:

also the "just another x-wing" issue is something I've considered and I feel we can make up for it with more powerful pilot abilities. Fels is especially underwhelming on a ship with only 2 actions

Both Tycho (like Doctor Zoidberg mentioned) and Fel would be really nice with the stressbot though. One of them just disregards the stress he recieves, and Fel can TL + shoot, get stress and have a TL+ Focus combo.

Norra Wexley is a far more interesting character than Horton Salm. Also the mother of Temmin "Snap" Wexley from The Force Awakens.

Don't get me wrong, i remember reading and enjoying the old fiction. But so far I'm preferring the characters of the new.

I would Rather see Thane Kyrell and the members of Corona squadron over the Rogue squadron of the past.

That's why you give it 3. Fel + PTL + EU + BB-8 means he's potentially taking 4 "actions" a turn and can weave around in amusing ways. Admittedly it's probably the only viable build for X-wing Fel, but it's really fun.

No you can't. The existing X-Wing Pilots have pretty awesome abilities and they still hardly see play. Also Fel's ability is pretty bad on an X-Wing. You would need to take R2 to have enough greens to de-stress him and more actions to take. So Engine upgrade or the like... And then you can't take IA!

Well if they gave us Soontir on an X i would not complain, but then on the T-70 or the E-Wing please.

You see every faction has 2 PS9 pilots. And the Rebel ones are just not in a good spot at the moment. Wedge is not played precisely because he is in an X-Wing, and Han was pretty dominant in the meta but he is now really declining!

So it would be a real waste to put another good pilot in the X-Wing!

A lot of People don't seem to enjoy playing the T65 any more, mainly due to its problems and the new T70.

But.

Take it for what it is.

Still a good ship, yes it has short comings.

But a good pilot works with the problem, fly's through the difficulty of the situatuon and overcomes an opponent,

That in some case's has a superior ship to you.

And if you beat them when they have a superior ship.

Then the victory is all the more better.

Wedge is still one of the best pilots in a Good fighter,

Its not the best, it has drawbacks.

But your a Rebel, fighting against greater numbers for your very existence against the evil Empire that wants to Subdue, Suppress or wipe out your very exsistance.

In well maintained ships that will always outnumber you,

While your fighting in a patched up grimey fighter held together with determination,grit and skill.

With a tired and stressed ground crew scraping parts together while having to move from base to base for fear of being found and wiped out by the Imperial Navy or that wretched Death Star.

Yea.

The X Wing is still bloody Good.

Like those Brave Pilots in the Battle of Britain,

Outnumbered and outgunned.

The Battle of Malta......even worse odds....still just about managed,

Those amazing American volunteers flying for the Chinese against the might of the Japanese Empire,

The Flying Tigers in outnumbered P40's against superior

Zero's

That's What your Flying in.

Its not just a ship.

Its a cause and struggle against tyranny.

Fly your X wing with pride.

After all.........they named this game after it.

I started making them a while ago, but got stuck on pilot abilities. Ididn't want to give Fel/Corran/Ibtisam the same abilities they have on their current cards. any ideas?

Before wave 4 came out, I made a Corran in the x-wing that was pilot skill 7, and his ability was, "after performing a 1 or 2 speed maneuver, your action bar gains the boost action until the end of the round"
