Evade Timing Question

By XCoconutMonkey06X, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I am having a hard time finding an existing answer to this question.

Here is a hypothetical situation:

I have a Gladiator with all 3 of its defense tokens active (Brace, Redirect, and Evade). I am attacked at long or medium range (doesn't quite matter in this situation) and the attacker scores, say, 2 hits and 2 accuracys. They chose to use the accuracy dice on my brace and redirect. Then it is my turn to use defense tokens. When I use my Evade, what happens when I select on of his accuracy dice to be negated/rerolled? Will that in turn free up one of my defense tokens that were initially locked down?

Accuracy results are spent before defense tokens are spent, therefore making them reroll an accuracy result can only hurt you more - they could reroll it into a damage.

The converse is also true - if you make someone reroll a damage and they land an Accuracy result, then their window for spending that Accuracy result has passed and they cannot use it.

Ok. so once that part of the die "spending" phase is over, those results are set in regards to accuracy. Thanks!

When a die is spent they are set aside and are no longer part of the Attack Pool. This means that they are not a target for Evades.

Forgot about that step, it's often glossed over because of the timing.

Yup. This is the step that makes it so that any new accuracy dice cant be used for their ability. However SW-7 Ion Batteries allow you to turn the newly rolled accuracy into damage.

Correct. Every time I play my SW-7 CR90B swarm, I have to explain to my opponent why his evade is completely useless against anything but a crit... :)
