Soontir/Vader/????

I'm trying to pin down what to fly for 30 points on Saturday. I'm going to do Vader with ATC, EU, and VI or Predator depending on points and 35pt Soontir for sure.

I'm thinking an Elite TIE/fo (Omega Leader with PtL and EU OR Juke and and Comm Relay), Carnor with VI/AT, Palpmobile (It should be noted that I suck at flying shuttles but am willing to learn in a trial by fire), or Maarek Steele with ATC and VI.

What are people's thoughts? Should I go for another Ace, a brawler, palp support, or the crit machine?

Palpshuttle all the way. I also found I like Cannor Jax with Vader/Palp.

It flies well for me. Didn't lose a ship in the last tournament I played until the last game.

Two Ties of whatever configuration suits you best. They are then very handy blockers for the two aces to set up those range 1 shots.

Omega Leader (21) + PTL (3) + Stealth (3) + Comm Relay (3).

Fully loaded Royal Guard Interceptor is 30.

Dark Curse (16) and Wampa or Chaser (14 each)

Palpmobile.

Better offense, defensive help, Palp is good.

Don't worry about flying the shuttle. What I mean by that is it's there to modify dice. Sure you want to shoot with the thing but it's not imperative that you do so. In fact that's the mind set for flying the pristine void sloth. Plan a few turns ahead to maximize where you want that nice big arc to point. Fly slow, don't rush into the fight just to have to turn around. You should be able to keep things in arc for all but a turn until late game flying with enough restraint.

If your opponent doesn't kill the shuttle first then you are modifying green dice for Vader or your Interceptor of choice or adding a crit to one of their shots a turn. If they target the shuttle first you have at least a couple turns to make them pay for their mistake! Meaning use your other two ships with offensive dice modification to make your end game and late game easier to deal with once they do take out the shuttle.

I prefer a little weight in my builds. Just an idea.

I took a Palpmobile + Vader & Soontir list. I only lost to a mirror match where I made a flying mistake in the late game (... Yeah, ok, it looks like Soontir got out flown by the enemy shuttle, but I swear I was just getting greedy), and against Mr. Randall.

The shuttle is a HUGE utility. You start with a slow roll (usually a bump against one of the aces), and see what the enemy is doing. If they're going for one of your Aces, you can bring the shuttle in for some heavy hits (I think my shuttle miiiight have gotten the most kills for me that tournament. I wish I had thought to keep a better count). If they're angling for the shuttle, keep playing it slow with the shuttle and get your aces into position.

I've done the Vader + Carnor * Soontir, but I had an issue with enemy target priority. My enemy has no obvious target, which sounds nice, but it makes setting up a solid flank difficult, and really just means they have no poor options for shots.

I'd drop pred and give OL SD or Hull which ever you prefer.

Not a terrible idea. It'll definitely be dependent on the meta you're up against whether or not you want VI on Vader.

And still a couple points to play with: could go with a much weaker 99 bid to give Vader VI and then give OL that Stealth or Hull boost (again, depending on what you're worried about running in to).
