X-Wing Vassal League Season 1 is now Live!

By Earthworm, in X-Wing

(And by season 1, I mean Season Zero....)

We just posted the pods for Round 1!

216 Players, 14 Time Zones, 36 round-robin pods.

Play begins immediately, and players have until February 15 to get their games in.

Click here for pod assignments, tournament info and more!

This is the last programmatic announcement we'll make for the league on this forum, though we'll be back occasionally with hype, results and info on new seasons and signups. Players should keep up with the Xwingonline subreddit for all future announcements.

Are the things revealed in the neweset spoiler legal?

I imagine quite a few wanting to fly TIE Defenders with Tractor Beams.

Might not be the right call though as there are quite a few unanswered question about it...

Everything that is in Vassal is allowed. I think the best thing would be to put in some special ruling (a small FAQ) letting us know what the ruling is for the league regarding those new spoilers.

In the link to the Season 0, scroll down to the Squadbuilding section and you'll see the maintained list of valid and legal cards to use.

So I just have to get in touch with everyone in my Pod and play with each one once?

Just went to Elo website and getting error message

Anyone else?

ELO Website (Challengeboards.net) is working fine for me.

Thanks

Working fine now.

Pretty excited about this league

(though I don't expect to do well. Vassal dice hate my guts)

So it doesn't matter what order I play opponent.

I just message my first round opponent

LOL, I'm trying to schedule with him first. :)

From the league's rules and procedures post:

Once you’re both in and have made your greetings, it’s time to declare your lists. Have your squad linked in one of the online squad builders, and, when your opponent is ready, count down from 3 in the chat, and paste the link to your squad. Hopefully, you can do it as near to simultaneously as possible (we are looking at more elegant solutions for this in the future, but this is how it is for now).

If you're really worried about getting meta'd by your opponent, you could enlist a third party as MajorJuggler describes, but i doubt that will be necessary very often.
