I love the Defender fix, they really learned from CR. They realized that just filling the slots and reducing cost kills those slots, so they created a really good incentive to use that cannon by hypercharging it with awesomeness!

I think the x7 Delta might be the best small ship in the game right about now. Maybe it's just my play style but that thing is absolutely going to be enormously important.

still, it flies really well, IMO, and that was before the full tractor-shenanigans. my fear is/was with ruthless and how it affects me flying the squad (therefore, it was crackshot+2xtiemk2 for me). now, flinging around the other guy makes ruth' appealing, doesn't it? ![]()

Nice list OP, looks nasty.
I proxied the /D vess with ruthless just the other day but forgot to trigger it on the second shot each time the entire first game. Its a savage EPT on the defender and now with T beams its gonna be a combo that effects your opponents play until dealt with.
I do have to wonder if the third delta wouldn't be better off as a lambda with baffles, ion and either vader or maybe even rebel captive.

If the goal is abuse I stand by this previous list I cooked up which is now even more effective thanks to the revealed TB rules:
- 1x [40] Colonel Vessery (35) + Tie/D (0) + Tractor Beam (1) + Ruthlessness (3) + Twin Ion Engine Mk.II (1)
- 3x [20] Omega Squadron Pilot (17) + Ruthlessness
enemy list gives you stress.
Surprisingly, not so much an issue.
The white K-turn is still a thing, so being stressed doesn't have too large an impact on your ability to maneuver, and neither the x7 title or Vess's ability require actions, so you don't lose access to your gimmick, either.
It seems counter-intuitive given how poor the Defender's greens are, but this might be one of the more stress-resistant lists out there.
I absolutely hate playing against defenders with my control variants even without mk2 engined they basically go wherever they want, and Vessery can still scoop up target locks when stressed, you nailed it brother

You can run the OP list with one copy of Imp Vets if you own two Defenders correct?
When it drops, I'm probably going to pick up 2 copies of Vets but trade away one Defender with a copy of the titles. Only need three Defenders but would like a total of 4 bombers. Just wish bombers actually fit on the Gonzo.

You move Delta x7 over speed 3 to get a bonus evade so it becomes the leader/blocker.
You shoot with Vessery, hit with TB and move ship into range 1 of its own ships and then Ruthless it, then shoot it with your Primary and Ruthless it again (easier with -1 agi).
Delta D shoots Ion to lock ship's maneuvering (while adding another point of damage on and easier to do with -1 Agi), and then shoot it with primary (if it is even alive it will be taking much damage by this point)
Delta 7 now goes and can shoot the TB ship but most likely will target what ever ships are still flying. (on a big ship this will do lots of focused damage, especially shutting down C3P0 on a Falcon build)

I'm at work, so my IQ automatically drops 50 points by virtue of being here....that said it seems like you are attacking 2x a turn with Vess and the Ion Defenders. How are you attacking 2x in one turn with these ships?

with the onset of imperial Veterans the Tie/D title allows for a 'double tap' if a cannon with a cost of 3 or less is used as its first attack. ion being 3 tractor being 1 costs appropriately.

To be fair, I had a lot of practice with the individual pieces (SLAM, Miranda, TLT, Tactician). That was just the first time I had put them on the table in a single list. :-)

Thinking further in depth with this list, you can essentially (with a small base victim) force them off the map (eventually) by walking the dog, Tractor 1 forward, Ion 1 forward, rinse repeat until 1 hard cant save, then on to the next victim.
I really can't wait forImperial Veterans to arrive now. It will be glorious...
