...a bit slow here and there (especially the combat system)...
You did know to turn off all the 'auto pauses' in the options menu, right?
That *drastically* enhances the gaming experience.

What are you on about? In no way is The Force Unleashed canon. Listen to the RebelForceRadio podcast and you will get confirmation that Sam Witwer (and many other Clone Wars and Rebels voice cast member) supplied additional voices for TFA. We have to face the facts that Starkiller is most likely not going to be pulled into canon.
As of right now the only things that count in canon are the Films, Clone Wars, Rebels and books printed by Del Rey starting with Tarkin. Even the original Clone Wars cartoon by Gendy Tartakosky (sp) is out of the SW canon. All "Legends" material are around but they are not canon (or even "secondary" canon). They are simply fun stories from a time before the sequel trilogy. Sure, filmmakers can mine from these sources, but that still does not make them canon. That is why Ben Solo is Ben Solo, nothing more, nothing less.
I appreciate your clear passion for The Force Unleashed and a great deal of the old EU, but they are now mere legends in the Star Wars universe.
Cheers and best wishes on the new age of Star Wars.
There is certainly going to be some backstory about her being marooned on Jakku. Her parents clearly did it (a super Force-sensitive child in a galaxy of mayhem and dark cults!) because they were scared about something, and that something probably killed them off. Simple. She could be Kyle and Jan's kid, but why mine old IP? Just make new parents. Ones that didn't also contradict the Rogue One storyline. "Cool, I'll just rampage through this poorly defended Imperial base and grab that chip."
Hmm. Whole family killed off and young daughter abandoned. You know what this reminds me of?

I still wake up screaming.
I don't think Rey's old enough to be Palpatine Jr.
The KOTOR games are good. They've got the ratings to prove it, HK47's dialog rocks. KOTOR 2 requires ALL TEH MODS though. (The HK47 mission near the end IS THE BEST MISSION IN THE GAME!).
I think she is a clone of Luke skywalker by the empire, but someone defected and took her and hid her somewhere she would be safe. Think about it. I'll post up my reasons why later.

Which mission's that? I like the T3 infiltrating the warehouse mission.

Is Star Wars, there are uncountable ways to make it work.
I hope she's Luke's daughter.
The surprise reveal in the movie doesnt need to be her father. Maybe Luke refuses to teach her so she goes back to Maz. Leia wasn't carrying a lightsaber but maybe she helps Maz in the teaching and learns a bit herself. Leia deserves super powers too.
They pulled/repurposed the Starkiller name using it for the base. We won't see the game character in new canon. The name's new home is more fitting anyway.

First of all you need to have the game modded, this isn't in vanilla.
Right, so at the end of the game before you go to the final planet and showdown, it fades out, and goes to HK47s perspective.
Here is a video. It is glorious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIt0oqmfJDA
Seriously, watch it. Some of it is truly magnificent and hilarious. I love HK47.

Ah, the HK factory. Yeah, I've played that, was pretty good. I was a bit disappointed with the droid planet mod, very sparse, you could tell it hadn't been close to finished.
Why is it a forgone conclusion that Kylo was trained by Luke and he caused Luke to go into hiding after his turn to the dark side? Didn't Leia at one point say she wished Luke had trained her son? Is there another son?

She says she wonders if they shouldn't have sent Ben to train with Luke.

Han says there's too much Vader in him, Leia says that's why she wanted Luke to train him. That *could* imply that she wanted Kylo to go train with Luke but he didn't, but when you couple it with Han's line about how can he get through to Kylo when Luke couldn't, and also the story about one of the pupils turning dark and killing everyone I think it's pretty clear Kylo trained with Luke and killed everyone.
I'm going with:
A - Leia's daughter (not Han's) depending when Han and Leia went their separate ways
B - Ben Kanobi's granddaughter. There's no reason why he wouldn't get it on with someone from Tattoine between Episode 3 and 4.

Leias daughter that she totaly forgot about and didn't recognize? Weak theory, that would require some serious explaining.
I like the idea of a bit Kenobi heritage, though. It is however unlikely, since Ben probably still followed the (stupid, stupid) rules of the order - he was a true Jedi knight after all, even when Luke met him.

The concept art I've seen of Rey has her as blonde, brunette (with a sort of Asian look to her) and possibly black (this time alongside what looks like a white Finn). That seems to suggest there's no OT or PT family link. As with Finn and Poe, fresh faces to the SW universe.
Considering we don't know who her mother is, I don't think it quite counts out Luke as her father.

She's a grown woman, if you hadn't seen her since she was a baby of course you wouldn't recognise her!

I think it's quite likely that they haven't decided yet. Doesn't rule anything out.
We went to the movie again yesterday and I am convinced that Rey is Leia and Han's daughter! The way Han likes her but keeps her at a distance, the way she was hid as a youngster, (just like Luke and Leia w/o knowing about each other.) Then the clinchers:
1) Her resemblanc to Padme and young Leia
2) The HUG! Rewatch the scene where Leia and Rey hug when they meet! That's a mother seeing her daughter again after being apart a long time!

The hug looked like an aunt to me.
You two are seriously discussing what a hug looked like?
It was affectionate and sympathetic, it doesn't tell you any more than that!

And let's not forget how Han has no idea who she is and plans on dropping her off at some random place until he realizes how good she is with the Falcon and offers her a job.

i think it was that moment where she just gets frustrated and ripped the wires out and it works. it seems like something a young han would do, to me.
