Time Period help...

By RobertLoblaw, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Can you help me understand Time Period campaign setup. I see the time period on the cards but what dictates the time period of a new campaign? I think I need another way to understand this rule and how do you know what time period the campaign is. Thank you.

The Campaign setup in the Campaign guide tells the Imperial player the time period.

For example, the time period for Return to Hoth is "5", meaning that when you include missions that have a listed time period, they must be able to occur in time period "5".

See the example below:

This card can be used in any time period between 1 and 6:

so when picking Agenda sets. you will have to leave out sets that have the incorrect time period.

or can you still take the set but leave out the mission card.

in the rules you pick six sets of agendas, each agenda set has 3-4 cards in it. if the time period does not match up, do you just remove the mission card, or the whole set?

"Building the Agenda Deck" pg 4 RRG

"The Imperial player cannot choose an Agenda set if it contains a card with a listed time period range that does not include the time period of the campaign."

You may not choose an entire set if one card happens to have a period range the same as campaign.

thanks very much.

it is exciting to get a new time period

Are there any cards that have a time listed and also include time period 7 (meaning anything after the second death star battle).

Yes, I think these are the only ones at this point...

Chewbacca - 2 - 7

Echo base Troopers - 3 - 7

Since we're generally discussing time periods now:

Boba is TP 1-5

Vader is TP 1-6

I don't think there's meant to be more than a few days between the deaths of the two.

This raises the question: does TP 6 span just this period of time or do we assume there is some period where Boba was just hanging out at Jabbas?

I would assume 6 is the assault on Endor and probably the events leading up to it. The movie doesn't really say how much time passes between Han's rescue and Endor, somehow Solo managed to become a General at this point...

Its the same month at very least, I also don't expect there to be a full Endor campaign since it seems like the whole operation (or the vast majority up until the death star goes down) is shown in ROTJ.

Gotta save all those Ewoks after the Death Star blows up!
