A few different questions, mostly about lieutenants

By FutureBeard, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Ok I have a come across a few questions I'm not sure about.

1. Leoric's hero ability on lieutenants. It says "Each monster within 3 spaces of you receives -1 damage on all attack rolls (to a minimum of 1). So in this case are lieutenants considered monsters and would suffer from this ability?

2. That also now leads me to another question about the same ability. When it says, (to a minimum of 1) does that mean if I, as the OL attacking with a monster, roll only 1 heart the ability would not reduce it to 0? Also if thats the case and I add 1 or 2 damage with a surge, does it reduce the damage gained from a surge or just from the initial roll?

3. This question is pretty much specific to the Castle Daerion quest and Alric Farrow. The quest tells me to treat Palamon and Militiamen as hero figures. So does this mean I may use Alric's Overpower ability against them? And If I can does that mean Palamon would receive a fatigue that would get him one step closer to winning the quest so it would actually benefit him? One last thing is would the fatigue suffered by militiamen from overpower cause them to take damage instead since they have no stamina?

4. Sorry one last question about Castle Daerion. Can I reinforce the zombies? I'm playing against two heroes so the zombie group is two minion and a master. Are they intended to just open the quest as a bonus for the overlords success in encounter 1 or can I immediately reinforce with the master zombie and then continue to reinforce as the starting ones are defeated, respecting group limits?

Thank you for your help

1) LTs are monsters. They are neither masters nor minions, but they are monsters.

2) The attack results are equal to the inital damage + any damage from surges. Though the hero ability says 'roll', it is essentially 'results.' Think of it like an ability that says, "the attack gains -1 damage" similar to abilities that say "the attack gains +1 damage." You cannot reduce the attack results from 1 to 0, is what is meant by the minimum.

3) Alric can use overpower against Palamon. This does not help the heroes. Since he has no stamina value, he suffers the fatigue as a damage instead. It hurts Palamon in such a way that he cannot defend it.

1. Thanks (Although in my opinion I feel like since they are two different things they should just write "monster or lieutenant" instead of just monster. I think that would eliminate some confusion and arguments, it's not like there isn't enough room on the cards)

2. Thanks

3. Thanks

4. Any answer on this one?

In the rulebook about lieutenants, it clarifies that each lieutenant makes up his own monster group- so lieutenants aren't any different than other monsters except that there aren't master lieutenants or minion lieutenants.

I forgot question 4, sorry.

4) Zombies are one of the monster groups the OL has available to him during the quest, so zombies can be reinforced. Some some quest rules specify a particular group or alternately an 'open group' for reinforcement. In this quest, however, any of the monster groups (ettins, zombies, alric, or open) are fair game to reinforce on the laboratory.
