New mechanic! Dual cards!

The partnership's Adaptability is further reflected by the introduction of a new Dual Card elite pilot talent. The first zero-cost elite pilot talent in X-Wing, Adaptability allows you to either add or subtract a point of pilot skill from any of your pilots with the elite pilot talent slot. The card's introduction as a zero-cost upgrade means that players everywhere will soon have an elite pilot talent upgrade that they can add to any squad for which they previously had no upgrade options in budget. Accordingly, it is bound to make appearances nearly everywhere, and you will find two copies of the upgrade in the expansion.

And finally, a description of what the tractor beam does:

Tractor Beam is a little scary.

Also, Zuckuss suffers the vulnerability of funny name spoken among players.

I assume Dual Card means you MUST use both in your squad.

No, it's two sided. So you can use either side.

Looking at the expansion picture, while there are two copies of the adaptability card they are identical, leading me to believe you choose which side affects the given ship. The question remains as to if and when you can flip the card over after the start of the game.

OMG

Hopefully after. Otherwise, there's no functional difference from making Adaptability two different cards, and there's very little reason to use the side that decreases PS.

tractor beam + defender title just got even more interesting...

Picking up a Mist Hunter now!

Well this was unexpected.

I never thought I'd get a chance to get Veteran Instincts (sort of) without buying a Slave 1 or Falcon. I can't figure out why I'd want the minus pilot skill side though. Low pilot skill is great for blocking, dropping mines, and aligning my ships' skills so I can move them in any order. But elite pilot talent upgrade slots (say that five times fast) only show up on medium to high pilot skill ships. I'd always end up with less pilot skill by just taking the cheapest pilot in the first place.

From playing with Tractor Beam, I knew that just reducing agility is, in practice, not worth forfeiting an attack, so I expected something else. This seems like a lot of something else! I'm confused by the card text though. Does opposing player mean the player opposing the player whose ship got the token (i.e. the attacking player)? Or the player opposing the player who dealt the token (i.e. the defending player)? Is it emphasizing that the player who fired the tractor beam does the barrel roll, or introducing a more complex pie-rule-type situation where one player picks whether it's a forward or roll and the other picks the direction or something? The article text suggests the attacking player chooses everything but articles have been wrong before.

I like how both Zuckuss and 4Lom pilot combo with Electronic Baffle, and with the pilot cards. But I played with a proxy Baffle and I don't really like it so that's a bummer. I'm eager to proxy test both and see how they play in practice, and see if I like the Baffle better the second time around.

The dial doesn't surprise me. I've been proxy-playing assuming a B-wing dial, and the ships have been a little weak. With barrel roll only available with a title and the 1 point increase over the B wing, this is really a ship meant to be played solo and it can't do the "be an efficient jouster" thing quite as well without the brick of similar ships. So I expected a slightly better B-wing dial, which is what we got.

This is looking like a good purchase.

Tie defenders with tie/d title and tractor beam are gonna do some damage

Imperial Veterans comes with Tractor beam too.

Yeah, I interpret it to mean that the attacking player makes the decisions on what happens to the ship that just got hit with Tractor Beam.

Well that is what we are guessing.

That and when you can flip the card. Once at the start of the game, end of a turn, etc.?

What about that electronic baffle , it just says when you receive a stress /or ion take a damage to discard the token, does that mean b wings can now do white k turns for 1 damage, lambdas can do white turns or park and still take actions for 1 damage? White k turning bro bots. I think this could be a meta changing card
