Thought this would be a fun thing to discuss. As soon as Disney mentioned that they'd be doing non-main-Trilogy Star Wars films, I imagine pretty much every fan started thinking about exactly what their perfect Anthology films would be. So, what's yours? You have the budget, you're the director/writer/bloke in charge, how would you make a Star Wars Anthology movie?

To start things off, a couple of my own ideas, based on the fact that what made Marvel movies so successful was (among other things) the fact that they were actual genre-based films, rather than just Superhero ones. Applying the same theory to Star Wars, this is what I came up with:

A Western set on Tatooine. No off-planet action, no space stuff, just the hive of scum and villainy that is Mos Eisely going about its life. The Hutts put a bounty out on someone who hightails it out into tte wastes to get away. Cue a team of grizzled bounty hunters, ex-soldiers and other ne'er-do-wells racing to collect the bounty. Classic Western formula, with Speeders for horses and blasters for six-guns. Bonus points if it is set between III and IV and features the awesome Cad Bane from Clone Wars...

Rogue One promises the gritty reality of a war film, on the ground and in fighters, but what about something set entirely around capital ships and their crew? Think a traditional submarine film, but instead of a Russian nuclear sub you have an Imperial Star Destroyer with experimental weaponry or highly important prisoners or information. An accident causes them to lose power, and until it's repaired, the ship is just drifting in space. Tensions rise, old rivalries come to a head, and all the time, the Rebels are closing in...

I would say The Old Republic, but that deserves at least a trilogy of its own...

Tantooine western! Brilliant. While we're in need of original scripts the first thing that sprang to mind was a remake of Yojimbo, I can just picture a grittier less charismatic smuggler than Han Solo or a Bounty Hunter with more personality than the original Boba Fett, playing off two rival factions!

Set in the days of the Old Republic. 2 Jedi and some troops are sent to investigate something ... Basically Aliens movie with lightsabres.

Try reading "Lost Stars"by Claudia Gray. Does this really well. And it is wayyyy better than "Aftermath".

Boba Fett after the Sarlacc pit. Recovers and goes to find a new boss (now that Jabba is dead).

Comes across a high value target that his new employer would like and also other Bounty Hunters as well.

Boba finds the target and goes after him, but other bounty hunters show up to stake a claim.

Space "negotiations" occur.

Boba grabs the target and heads back to collect the reward.

Discovers there is more to the target than first disclosed. Target knows of all the illegal skimming the Emperor is taking off of the systems he's been "protecting" with the Empire. Target is a broker who knows the banking information and how to get the money. And its worth a Death Star's building costs.

Boba decides that amount of money is able to set him up right. Problem - can't do it himself. Decides he's going to need some help.

Contacts other Bounty Hunters (some who he attacked during the "negotiations") and put an 'Oceans Eleven' team together to do the deed.

Now can he trust those he's brining along? Will there be a plan within a plan? Who's going to betray him? Will the plot be discovered? Won't his new employer be looking for the delivery and wonder why it didn't happen? And this is the Emperor he is stealing from...so who's going to come looking for the money?

That would be the movie I would do.

I want a movie, set between eps VI and VII in wich the ex-rebels/ new republic are fighting the remnants of the empire.

A new sithlord reveals himself on the side of the empire (ofcourse) and he fights with 6 lighsabers contolled with the force. Luke finaly manages to defeat him, sais the force is strong in one so steeped in the darkside, after wich the sith reveals he's but the apprentice and his master is "one with the force' (a lie.) When the rebel troops attack the sith master's citadel with a squad of captured AT-ATs The master comes out and uses the force to cow-tip an AT AT on it's side! It takes Y-wings with B-wing support to drive the master back towards a waiting shuttle that then manages to evade the rebels fighters and dissapear. to be continued.

Firefly. It's a space western, but it's also Star Wars just with bullets replacing blasters. Seriously, there are many parallels.

There's a fan film that is almost this. I'll have to look it up and come back and edit this comment, but it's the lonely boring war as told by the stormtrooper grunts. Foot patrols through cities, AT-AT assisted recon, etc. Complaining grunts. Quite good for a fan film.

Would love to see a Tag and Bink movie or movies, script straight from the comics. Hell they could just reuse most of the Original trilogy footage so they have half of it already filmed, just insert Tag and Bink using a bit of green screen and your set,

Hell yes! A Star Wars comedy would probably never get made as it's just too different, but it would be hilarious to see Tag and Bink in live action.

I am a huge Firefly fan, that's partly why I suggested that in the first place. But I also think it would be nice to see something in the Star Wars setting that's a lot more contained. The existing films just hop from planet to planet and that's great, but I would like to see a film that really gets into the culture of just one setting, and Tatooine is perfect for this, it's got such an array of stories you could tell there.

And bounty hunters. Lots and lots of bounty hunters!

Is that I.M.P.S. you're referring to? Yeah, that is pretty decent, for what it is... Although I seem to recall there's a Predator in it at some point, which is a bit odd.

A young Luke/Leia film. The Luke scenes like Ferris Beuller's Day off - Luke and Biggs in and out of trouble all over town (Biggs is Ferris of course). Leia on Alderaan with a Breakfast Club vibe - humanizing the Alderaanians and future loss of the planet.

I was just saying to some friends yesterday that I would absolutely love a new Bioware Star Wars game, even if it's just Mass Effect with a Star Wars skin. KotOR is fun, but so very dated by now, and if you could find a way to combine the RPG elements of that with the storytelling and combat of Mass Effect, with new Battlefront visuals and sounds... Best. Game. Ever. Old Republic, new Republic, Outer Rim, the depths of Coruscant, I don't care, just make this game, someone!

I'd also like to see something like the old Republic Commando game, a linear, Halo-esque FPS with a squad command mechanic. I still play RC from time to time, a new version would just be fantastic.
