Imagine a Scyk swarm barrel rolling a ship halfway across the board
Mist Hunter preview!
I take back all the mediocre things I said about tractor beam. It becomes a really hard choice to make for the TIE/D now.
Vessery with VI (or adapability) and tie/D
everyone saying the Tractor beam is amazing needs to remember you're losing one of your attacks to do it. So It's good, but not busted good.
Tractor Beam is MUCH more than we thought.
Tractor Beam is SO much more than we thought. Tie/D title is completely sick now.
I guess we know why they changed the rule about boosting and barrel rolling off the board lol.
First favorite tractor shenanigans:
Roll Biggs away from the ships he is protecting. Defender can then fire at actual targets.
Boost Stresshog so that he doesn't have arc on any aces.
What was the rule adjustment on boosting and barrel rolling off the board? Looking it up, but I'm not seeing anything.
You can't boost/barrell roll of the board anymore.
Okay, great, figured as much. Thanks!
Hell yeah you want to boost into that mine! What's that? A barrel roll puts you on a rock? Dang son! That's a real shame!
Oh boy the devious bastard inside me is roiling with glee. Positively roiling. Get your skull chalice Alice, we're gonna drink some tears baby!

But Tractor Beam can potentially force a small ship near the edge to boost forward enough that they could potentially have no room to turn before leaving the board.
I can also envision a crazy scheme where five Tractor Scyks essentially daisy-chain a helpless enemy ship into doing the equivelent of a 9-forward.
Tractor Beam will be hilarious when you will move a ship that as not attacked yet on a rock.
Tractor Beam is hilarious. Move them onto rocks, move them to block their own formation next round, move them to manipulate range, move them so you're not in their arc anymore, move them into the arc of another of your ships...
Can anyone think of a situation where you'd want to use Adaptability to lower your PS? I'm sure there must be a case where it'd be useful but I sure can't think of what it would be.
In addition to blocking shenanigans, you might just want to keep your ships on the same PS.

The Agility penalty stacks, but the barrel roll or boost only happens the first time a ship gets a token each turn.

First tractor per turn only, thankfully

Thankfully no
Edited by imprezagoateePs2 tractor-scyk swarm > all b-wing lists, yes?
Oh nm, I thought it was first from each ship. It's first ON each ship.

Once per turn, I'm afraid. I imagine the developers had already thought of that sort of shenanigans

The boost/roll thing only triger the first time a small ship receive a tractor beam token that round.

Is it possible, is it finally something that makes the Scyk not suck?

Col. Vessery in a TIE/D would say differently.

While yes it is only once per turn, the tractor beam sets the Scyk up with a neat little niche. 17 points to lower agility/reposition enemy ships is not bad.
So the dual cards are double faced I'm guessing?

Nope
EDIT: Partially kidding, they might be kinda ok now, but probably not.

Looks so. Furthers my guess that you pick at the start of the game.

Thats unfortunate but probably for the best

Yep, as someone noticed there are two copies in the upgrade spread, but they both have the art of the -1 card.

And people were dismissing the bottom half of the card...
Yeah, Tractor Beam is much, much more than we expected. Tractor Beam Scyks will be fun. Ooops, you are now in range one with -1 Agi of my two other Scyk buddies. Or getting pushed into going off the board range. Fun and nasty. Love it.
Love the synergy between Zuckuss and 4-LOM. 4-LOM will likely see play on other ships for Scum, poor little aces are going to really need more than one focus token. And Zuckuss will be annoying as well, in particular with his buddy to toss off that stress. That dial though...
Wish they had given us the Dual Upgrade rules card. Pretty certain they are double sided card, as it sounds similar to what they did with them in Netrunner. And hey, you can turn your PS 5s into better blockers. Fun.
So the dual cards are double faced I'm guessing?
I was wondering the same .. the image of the card only says increase pilot skill..
Is it within the rules to attack your own ships? Can I tractor my own vessel out of an enemies arc?

Yeah, but that repositioning is coming at PS2.
