Can IG-88 A gain more than its starting shield value?

By ParaGoomba Slayer, in X-Wing Rules Questions

It uses the word 'recover' but doesn't specify that it's limited to shield value like R2-D2 or R5-P9 do.

The word 'recover' implies no excess shields, but with no specific limitation on the card like other regenerators I'm not sure.

No, as stated in his FAQ entry.

This has been another episode of "If only people would read the FAQ/errata".

Are there any abilities that allow you to 'recover' shields past the initial Shield Value? No. That should give you a fairly good starting point.

Not yet, anyway. Punishing One shipping with 3 more shields than it can use makes people suspicious...

If what happened at my FLGS was any indication, there are a ton of new people getting into the game right now, due to the holidays and the new movie. They sold about 70% of their X-Wing stock between Christmas and New Year's. So we're likely to have a lot of new players who don't know the ins and outs of the rules and the sites and might not know there's even such a thing as an FAQ or errata. So maybe kindly pointing them in that direction would go a longer way towards helping them than snarking about them not finding it on their own.

if it was a new person this would apply, Paragoomba has been on the forums for quite some time... anyone else can use the "Search this forum" bar

Sorry for suggesting we be a slightly friendlier place, carry on.
