each battery holder has one built on it. . ..so i open it, flip the 3 switches and close it. magnets on each bow half and the natural hold from the engine assembly keep it very closed
ISD Full optics Mod
godlike
Did you have a really tiny drill bit to make the holes, or did you use a file?

the fiber optic is .25mm so this size is perfect
Edited by Kuk111Love your work. So do you freelance?
Seconded.
Really good work and yes, the Emperor is pleased!
That. Is. Slick!
I was wondering how to get that effect. Thank you, for sharing your work...it shall be imitated
Thanks you all for the wonderful comments. I have one more ISD I need to do for my fleet that will help refine the process. I would consider creating some for sale but I'm not a assembly line or anything so we will have to see. I enjoy mod'ing and would hate to take the fun out of it.
I will however make sure to take pics of the steps on ISD 2. The first time you do a optic mod has a lot of trouble shooting as you go, so second time will make for a nice smooth guide. Everyone should know the fun of drilling countless tiny holes
You will also be pleased to know Vengeance had her baptism of fire last night with her soon to be lit sister ship VS 2 Ackbar lead MC80's and a MC30. Though she was heavily scared, both ISDs held the field with Ackbar limping off leaving the shattered hulks of his escorts behind ... If only we had a Interdictor Cruiser

I'd love to see that, especially when it's fairly cheap to get such an amazing look. If part of that price is drilling countless tiny holes I think I'd gladly pay it.
Nice!
Well done!
Thanks all. I gave up on the scheme I wanted for paint, a black point. I tested it on a victory and it didn't look good. So my Fleet now has a basic wash and highlight coat to bring out some dimension. Keeps its all very imperial. Markings are for the other guy.
Holy crap that's freakin cool
Particularly impressive viewed with the whole fleet. Well done. (As a tinkerer thank you also for the parts list. I may have to add this to my long list of when I have time!)
Commenting so I can know when the full step-by-step is posted
so feakin cool
Agree
Love your work
Legendary!
Talk to me about opening up and closing up the model again. I assume you have to open it up every time you want to turn it on or off.
I need a spatula to pick my jaw up off the floor! Freaking awesome!
I don't think anyone has said anything about the lit Gladiator yet.
That is the first lit gladiator I have seen, and I am super impressed! I have all the components and am about to start my own fiber optic journey as soon as real life stops intervening with my star wars toys. I would love to tinker with the gladiator, was it relatively the same process?
could someone light up an interdictor please?
Edited by mad mandolorianVery nice work with the leds, which inspired me to do it too! However I have no idea how to open up the bridge and I was wondering how did you manage to put the leds into the 4 smaller engines? Thanks in advance!
What's with all the necroing today???
