What ships we would like to see in Armada?

By solamnic, in Star Wars: Armada

EU2vlIE.jpgreally just want to see these two show up, but I don't want to start yet another debate over the inclusion of a third faction :/ (still support the mercenary faction idea, though)

for those who don't know, the one on the left is the Hapan Battle Dragon, and the one on the right is a Hapes Nova Battle Cruiser. both of which appeared in the Courtship of Princess Leia, idk I just thought these looked cool and I'd love to have them as models

EDIT: Also want to see the Flurry since I like starfighters and it was basically a cool looking carrier.

I don't think the Nove Battle Cruiser looks bad (though it is a little "bird of prey"ish, which may tread on Star Trek toes), but the Hapan Battle Dragon... just looks a bit dumb and ugly. I can respect it for wanting to look very different from any other ship, but it just never appealed to me.

What about actual space stations or fixed platforms? Could tie in with new missions maybe, or just something that you have to deploy before any fleet elements.

Check out the link in my signature. Working on developing new missions involving space stations and transports

Endurance class fleet carrier and the nebula class star destroyer

What is this ship? Is it rebel or imperial?

That is an Action-IV transport. In that case, its the Wild Karrde, personal ship of Talon Karrde, who features as a Crime-Boss / Info Peddler, who eventually starts helping the Rebellion, but really, is his own side...

So its touted as one of the possible "Scum" Huge ships for X-Wing.

I am looking for a possible imperial counterpart to the GR-75 - a freighter that can be mounted on a squadron base and used for the 'storyline' mission set I am developing. I notice Mel makes these freighters, are they a good choice? I also saw the Gozanti, but the Gozanti is armed.

2) Eclipse Class Star Destroyer...

A DREAM... (scale problems?)

That lego ship is actually in more or less the right scale for Armada. You could fight a battle under it.

As has been pointed out several times in the SSD thread Armada does not have a set scale. So scale problems are only in the eye of the beholder.

Agreed, making a SSD to scale with the ISD model we already have is as ridiculous as insisting that the CR90 model be able to fit in the ISD model's hanger. However in comparison to the ISD and the VSD, the CR90 feels about right.

However, in order for an SSD to feel "right" in terms of the tabletop it would have to be at lest 2 feet long and at least as wide as a current ISD is long. With that said three little problems spring to mind; a) That's a lot of plastic, b) the MSRP for it would be steep, and c) it would take an inordinate amount of shelf space for FLGS owners. And for all those pains what do you get? A very lovely display piece that will get used in a game once in the bluest of blue moons.

I want to see the Venerator. A sturdy, but not terribly heavily armed starfighter base would be delightful.

I want to see the Winged Liberty. Naturally.

I want to see the Interdictor. I particularly want to see how they make it work.

I want to see the "bulk freighter" I remember from X-Wing. Possibly some of the Platforms, Heavy Lifters, Containers, etc.

All of the ships. I would like all the ships please.

And a diet coke.

Corellian gunship for me man keep empire at war train rolling

I think that if it was about the size of the X-Wing Raider it would look good.

Lancer-class frigates (canon again)

Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser

Carrack-class cruisers

Nebulon-B2 frigates

Nebulon-K frigates

Mon Cal Light Cruiser (MCsomethingorother)

Vindicator-class heavy cruiser

Immobilizer 418

etc...

Honestly, my hope is for the next fighter pack to have a Decimator, along the same vein as the Rogues and Villains pack. No clue what the Rebel equivalent might be.

Could use a Skipray blastboat but the equivalent of the Decimator from Star Wars: Commander is the HWK-290 which we already have.

What about Wave 1 fighters with rouge, grit, or intel?

Poe's Xwing?

Kylo Ren's Shuttle?

Poe's Xwing?

The problem with miniatures for poe's xwing is that at armada sizes the differences between a t-65 x-wing and a t-70 x-wing are almost to hard to see.

It's True .... No painting :)

Agreed. I could, however, see something like the X-Wing Aces packs which have alternate cards (and normally different paint schemes, but since squadrons are unpainted...). All you need is a rule that says you can only have one type of X-Wing (or TIE fighter for FO) in your list.

There was a thread a whole back about Force Awakens stuff. My personal ideas were speed 4 and a black die for a T-70 for 15 points. I also thought about having Poe cost a fuckton, have a scatter token, and prevent enemy squadrons within distance 1 from spending defense tokens. It makes him great against Aces, which suits him, but overpriced when facing genetics.

As much as I personally want to see the Venator, I doubt we'll see it for Wave 3...or maybe even at all as most people want to distance themselves from "the dark times" that were the Prequels.

However that wont stop me from proxying the Victory for one, which is what I plan to do.

Wave 3 is going to have a few "given ships" in my book, the GR75 and the Wing Mon Cal. I'm hopeful to see the Assault Frigate MK 1...but there is a good chance they will follow the empire at war lore and add that gunboat thingy that looks like a "special" klingon bird of prey.

The Empire will be tricky, unless they put in their refitted dreadnaught, all they have is the broadside cruiser, and the Acclamator. The only ship big enough in my book to rival the Wing'd Mon Cal would be an Imperial Venator...and I'm very hopeful.

If they follow the current way they did releases, it should be 1 medium, 1 small, 1 fighter (or 2/1/1 or whatever.)

My IDEAL wave 3:

Rebels: Winged Mon Cal, Assault Frigate Mk 1, GR75

Empire: Imperial Venator, Dreadnought, Imperial transport ship (whatever)

Lieutenant Mon Cal Cruiser - X-wing Alliance

Liberator Cruiser - Rebellion PC

Tie Defender

Imperial Gun Boat

Please no Third faction. There are plenty of ships for both sides to go through without adding scum or something... (dislikes Scum)
