What ships we would like to see in Armada?

By solamnic, in Star Wars: Armada

I am starting this thread because i really would love to know your opinions on what we would like to see in this great game (with GREAT miniatures :) )...

What would i like:

1) Super Star Destroyer...

Oh yes..

there is a specific thread that points that it cant be done due to scale :)... nevertheless i think we all would like to see it ...

2) Eclipse Class Star Destroyer...

A DREAM... (scale problems?)

3) Death Star?

Any more ideas? :)

The finalizer?

No. Just no please. We have a SSD thread.

5) Venator Class Star Destroyer

I'd like to see more frigate type ships, for the imperials. Right now the imps have the bombastic star destroyers, but there were many light cruiser and frigate type ships for the imperials, in the EU setting. Also, I'd like the see the Wild Karrde, Talon Karrde's captured star destroyer. The Carrack class cruiser, ect... There are so many you could put in game.

i know that there is ...

but it should be mentioned in here also :) (its not a vote thread... it just an opinion thread)

6) Wild Karrde

7) Carrack Class Cruiser

Carrack_I-class_Light_Cruiser.png

Lancer-class frigates (canon again)

Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser

Carrack-class cruisers

Nebulon-B2 frigates

Nebulon-K frigates

Mon Cal Light Cruiser (MCsomethingorother)

Vindicator-class heavy cruiser

Immobilizer 418

etc...

Clone Wars stuff

Give us and advance fighter pack but release it like the Rogues and Villains pack. 3 or 4 advance rebel fighters and 3 or 4 advanced imperial fighters. For rebels E-wing, K-wing, and maybe something new from FFG. For the Empire Tie Defender, Tie Avenger, and maybe the assault gunboat.

6) Wild Karrde

What is this ship? Is it rebel or imperial?

Basically all of them and some new one created by FFG (they've done a very good job at it so far). Would also prefer prequel ship to be realized before the one from the force awaken.

But my top 4 would be:

GR-75 medium transport

good looking

unique role

very important ship of the trilogy

Ton-Falk Escort Carrier

good looking

we need some squadrons carrier!

Liberty class MC-80

good looking

Iconic rebel capital ship

Immobilizer 418 cruiser

Unique role

Good Looking

I personally don't want the SSD any time soon , it would be too big for the current state of the game that can hardly handle more than 600pts, so maybe later with new rules.

Yes yes. :)

Pretty sure it was Booster Terrick who had a captured Star Destroyer. I do think the Carrack, though particularly attractive, would be a useful addition to the Imperial line up.

That is an Action-IV transport. In that case, its the Wild Karrde, personal ship of Talon Karrde, who features as a Crime-Boss / Info Peddler, who eventually starts helping the Rebellion, but really, is his own side...

So its touted as one of the possible "Scum" Huge ships for X-Wing.

I am looking for a possible imperial counterpart to the GR-75 - a freighter that can be mounted on a squadron base and used for the 'storyline' mission set I am developing. I notice Mel makes these freighters, are they a good choice? I also saw the Gozanti, but the Gozanti is armed.

That lego ship is actually in more or less the right scale for Armada. You could fight a battle under it.

I am not the person to ask.

My knowledge of the EU and its absolute specifics is fleeting at best. I can just recognise things.

I am sure other people will give you better information.

Almost all transport ships in Star Wars are armed including most GR-75s

Oh, look, another Wish list thread. How often are these coming up, twice a month?

MC40a, Nebulon-B2.

Now that that's out of the way, how about making a discussion out of this? Like how the Imperial capital ship lineup is now dramatically vulnerable to Home One preventing them from ever using their braces against anybody except flankers. Whatever Imperial ships are coming next must make up for 1. Home One's spectacular title (so Brace-brace-evade tokens perhaps, like the Nebulon-B has) and 2. The disappointing and difficult performance of the Raider.

The Arquitens or Nebulon-B2 could fill the role of being an Imperial Nebulon counterpart. As Nebulons can take slave turrets and output a lot of dice at red range, an Imperial ship with a similar setup could create a cheap firing line to shoot back at Home one lists without being costly (like the ISD) or tragically vulnerable (like the VSD). Even if one is lost, it isn't as expensive as either of those ships, and will hopefully pay back the points in effectiveness before it gets destroyed.

Apart from the GR75 filling the magical unarmed (or hardly armed) spell casting role I can't think of a place where the Rebels particularly need anything. They have the best ship in the game, the best flankers in the game, awesome cheap gunships, and a decent command ship with scary titles. Even the MC30 can out-survive the Gladiators thanks to their titles and the two great defensive officers (Empire's single officer needs to be speed 3+ to survive, which means only while he is closing). So they are free to really take anything and it will still be great. The only way to balance this out IMO is to give the Rebellion a dud ship... like a Rescusant that occasionally has to reverse the clicks on one joint of it's movement stick so that it collides with allies in formation (just like in the movies!)

As long as the Empire gets an extra ship out of wave 3 I will be happy, preferably a small base long range ship in the 50-60 point range.

A third faction. Yes, i said it!

How about the Vindicator Heavy Cruiser?
