So I got this for Christmas and now I am hooked.....

I played a few games without the upgrades to learn and I got the hang of the basics (I think).

I am looking at the Night Beast card and trying to make sense of his ability. From what I can tell I get a free focus action (token???) if I preform a green maneuver. You cant stack tokens so I cant do a green maneuver and get 2 focus tokens.

I CAN do a green maneuver, get my focus token, and do an evade or b roll.

I CAN do a white maneuver and just pick ONE of my actions (Focus/B roll/Evade)

Am I thinking this through correctly?

Night beast allows you to perform a free focus ACTION. When you perform a focus action, you gain a focus token. there are other ways in the game to get a focus token though that don't involve taking an action. You CAN stack multiple tokens of the same type, you CANNOT perform the same ACTION twice in one round. (rebels have one combo that could allow a HWK to accumulate a dozen or more focus tokens during a game, for example).

So yes, you can perform a green maneuver, take your free focus action, then barrel roll or evade or if you don't perform a green maneuver just take your single action.

You are correct on Night Beast.

I just used him the other day and the 2 actions make him hard to kill.

The Twin Ion Engine Modification card that comes with the Tie Punisher expansion is also useful for Nght Beast by adding 2 green 3-bank maneuvers for only 1 point.
