Haunted, Cursed, Possessed equipment. Ideas? Thoughts? What have you used in your campaign?

I had a player get his arm blown off by a bolter. Luckily for the player the cultist that shot him had a best quality cyber arm to use as a replacement. The players never stopped to ask "Hmm, should we put this cyber arm we got off a dead cultist, who was working for a Nurgal chirgeon on a player?" Sadly that player dropped out before I could mess with the character (see the movie Idol Hands for what I was thinking of doing). Have any of you used cursed or problematic items in a campaign as a player or GM? I'm thinking of giving out items like they did in Deadlands, the item has benefits but also confers flaws (Bill Hikok's guns were great until you got surprised or shot in the back).

Any ideas on melee weapons or firearms? I want to give out a areotech sword that has problems to a player and I need ideas.

One of my players (A Psyker) detected a powerful energy within an amulet they found. One of the other players was a renowned loot ***** and the other acolytes had to physically restrain her to stop her from putting it on, even though they were certain it was going to be demonic in some way.

My Psyker opted that he would test that it was safe before giving it to her. He put it on, and was surprised when a voice started talking in his head.

Not a sorcerer, or a daemon of any sort.

It was an Ork Weirdboy who was trapped in the amulet by a Chaos sorcerer. He found he was unable to remove the amulet and was thusly stuck with "Grak da Weird" constantly tempting him with Orky impulses. He received unnatural strength 2, but constantly had to roll Willpower to stop Grak from doing Orky things. It didn't take long before most of the vehicles and shoes the party owned were badly painted red.

The worst part was that Grak kept making the poor squishy Psyker rush into Melee combat.

There's a Hellblade locked up in a vault by my group right now. The warrior has been getting tempted by it very slightly, and already has a Dark Obsession with Daemonic things. I'm going to make sure it comes up more often as time goes by.

Nothing beyond the items from Dark Pursuits so far. However, it was a very handy way of showing the players in game that one of their group was actually an untouchable!

One of the players has a eldar ranger sniper rifle, and of course only one clip. I'm thinking that the soul of an eldar is in the wraith bone/weapon and begins talking to him. But being an eldar the soul is very condescending, regaling the player of past eldar glory, and always judging him. I might also give the player speak eldar as a surprise. "What do you mean the rest of the party can't read those ruins?"

That's a great idea Joker, let us know how that goes!
