... well, I still maintain that it's too early to call the U-boats OP, but that certainly isn't a great look.

Indeed
Just finished up the final store championship in Alaska!
Had a showing of 24 people during a snow storm of about 8-12 inches. Snow never stops us Alaskans from our games though!! We pushed through and started on time.
The top four ended up being two Palpmobile builds and two Ghost builds. The x-wing gods played their hand as the first round of cuts pitted the Palpmobiles against each other and the Ghosts against each other.

While I am in the boat which believes everyone needs to be scared of these things, I think it's likely that results like this are currently a little skewed.
Players which are taking this list are
a) obviously deeply invested in the game, otherwise they wouldn't splurge on 3 Jumpmasters right off the bat
b) hitting the table with this before any one has had time to adapt
c) Not only are they invested, but they are well informed, which means they've likely been a member of the competitive side for awhile, which in turn means they are already likely to be some of the top players there.
BMF, for example, I know to be a great player on vassal, Uboats or no Uboats.
But still. Uboats are already making a heavy case to be the list to beat.

The Ghost vs Ghost match in the semi-finals was a grudge match after having just faced each other in the last round of swiss. I won the first match, Cody won the second. Both were really good games.

10 Imperial (2 Whisper + Decimator one made Top 8, different lists with 3 Aces or Aces + Shuttle)
Very relaxed atmosphere, there was a player that just started X-Wing the day before and all his opponents were really helping him out.

That would be a bit unlikely in Germany, would it?

==========
I brought my trusty GlitterBots but only went 2-2, losing to Morgan and Pete. The first was an excellent game highlighted by one of the few times you will see someone Palpatine an evade to a blank, while the other was highlighted by a Whisper who seemed very unhappy at fighting three consecutive BroBot lists and took her frustrations out on poor 88B, who went from 5 health to none in a single shot.

... well, I still maintain that it's too early to call the U-boats OP, but that certainly isn't a great look.
Out with TLT spam, in with U-Boats it seems.
I don't have all the details, but there was a SC this past Sunday in Dallas which was won by SableGriffon with Crack swarm (If it is the list he has played regularly, it would be Omega Leader [Comms, Juke], 4xBlack Squad [Crack Shot], Wampa)
The top 4 had 2 U-Boat lists I believe.
2) Inquistor w/ PTL, Title, ATs (me)
2 x Gamma Sqd. w/ Homing, Siesmics, Guidance and Extra Munitions
Black Squadron w/ Crackshot
Are you serious? I just made that list when thinking about how to counter U-Boats except that I kept one point of initiative and scrapped the Seismics to give the Inquisitor a Proton Rocket. Were you satisfied with the performance of the bombs?
Nice to see you did well with it, that is just too cool!

I actually didn't face the dreaded Scouts (only 1 person brought them), but in theory you should be able to delete one before they fire. Then you are only taking 2 torps in return fire. If they are smart they will try and bump your bombers, but if you stay in the asteroid field that will be pretty hard. They will likely take out a Bomber, but that still leaves you with the advantage. If you can face 1 scout w/o torps left vs. Inquisitor, you are easily going to win unless you somehow screw up.
I had thought about giving the Procket to the Quisitor but went with the siesmics at the last second. Man did they pay off. Just being conservative, but I did at least 12 damage with them throughout the day. I tell you, people just forget about bombs. Especially with EMs, they forget about the 2nd one. Couple of the highlights were hitting 4 Ties with 1 bomb. Hitting Dark Curse with consecutive bombs, then he ran into a rock killing him. That's how you kill DC, didn't even have to fire at him. I also bombed Ezra into oblivion with 2 bombs, after he deployed. I bombed something in every single match.
The Bombers were definitely the MVPs. The Inquisitor is actually just kind of a distraction and he does a great job at that. Still though, I only lost him once. He's a pretty good ace. The Homing Missiles + Guidance are brutal. Only once did I roll less than 3 hits. Most of the time you net 4. Between the Inquisitor and Bombers I deleted a Stresshog before it even had a chance to fire. It Felt pretty good killing that thing before it got its **** stress off.

Triple U Boat can alpha strike hard, but they themselves are surprisingly fragile since they don't use focus on defense unless the alternative is death. Crack Blacks tear them apart.

I think Juke is pretty amusing against them as well. "Your Evade is downgraded to an eyeball. Oh look, you have a Focus token just sitting there." You basically make the Scout take straight damage, or you downgrade their offense for a turn from "best in the game" to "slightly better than a HWK with Focus".

So I was just about to ask what the point of adaptability was, and then it dawned on me. Duh.
