2016 Store Championship Results
I took first in Poromagia Store Championships (19.3.2016), Helsinki, Finland. 22 players, 4 Swiss rounds, Top 4 cut, 75min games.
Wave 8 was not legal as it got released like 1-2 days before tournament.
That's a bit disappointing (the ruling about no wave 8). I find the store championships IMMEDIATELY after release are always the most entertaining.
Well there is no guarantee that everyone attending have chance to get Wave 8. Would make it unfair for some people. But it's not that big of a deal. In about 2 weeks there is another coming in other store.

oh yeah
not only are they incredibly punchy, but they're incredibly fun (maneuverable, large-base = thought-provoking positioning esp around obstacles and relative to each other, amazing blockers when not torping people to death) and they look amazing

On the meta...
Lots of Wave 8 ships - a couple ghosts, a Dengar, several TIE Advanced Prototypes, and two triple torpedo scout lists. Surprisingly few Palp aces, only one Soontir Fel, no Whispers. Lots of scum, several swarms but no crack shot swarms surprisingly.
On the atmosphere...
It seemed like everyone had a great time! No instances of cheating or maliciousness or poor sportsmanship as far as I could tell. Every single opponent I played was an outstanding sport and I heard almost zero complaints about bad dice even though several of my opponents would have been justified complaining.
On the triple torpedo scouts list...
They're real and they're spectacular. I was a bit surprised there were only two of us with them given their popularity online. I only lost to the Kanan/Biggs list (see below) and the other player (Chase G.) only lost to me (I had the better dice) and my brother flying Vader/Fel/Palpshuttle, who had discussed and play-tested against the triple scout list extensively with me prior to the tournament.
On the winner and his list...
Ryan was an outstanding competitor with a great attitude. His only loss all day was to me, and he destroyed just about everyone else he faced (and then destroyed me in the grudge match final). He flew his list to force everyone to shoot at Biggs, who was hopefully shadowed by Kanan (one extra defense dice due to Tactical Jammer) while Kanan reduced up to three shots on Biggs by an attack die (Kanan's ability + three focus tokens due to dual recon specialists). With that much protection, Biggs usually lasted quite a while and was able to regen several shields with R2-D2.
Our first game, he setup Kanan and Biggs to fly in diagonally from the corner while I had my scouts spread out; through a bit of luck, I was able to get two torpedo shots around Kanan - and although they were only three dice attacks instead of the normal four, the following round I completed a flank maneuver for a third torpedo kill shot. Even with my initial success, it was a close game. At the end, I was left with two scouts - one with 1 health, one with 5 hull but no shields.
Our second game, Ryan adapted marvelously - instead of flying Kanan and Biggs diagonally into the center of the board, he shuttled them flush against the ride edge of the play mat. I reacted poorly and managed to get one of my scouts killed before he could fire either of his torpedoes, and the rest was just mopping up. He won with a shield still on Kanan (plus ten hull) and one health on Sabine, who deployed a few turns earlier for a range-1, 4-dice attack. So, not really close; a decisive victory for Ryan.
I loved Ryan's list and think it might be one of the best counters to the triple torpedo scout list. It's hard to get at Biggs (which is the idea) and that really mitigates the alpha-strike-ness of the list. I have a few ideas on how to tackle Ryan's list in a hypothetical rubber match, but I'll keep those to myself for now :-)
On my overall experience...
I've only been playing since mid-January. I've placed 8th of 21, 5th of 36, and now 2nd of 27 in three tournaments and each one has been a great experience. Glad to be part of the community!
There was a triple u-boat list at our tournament that did not fair as well (not sure of the final placing). In swiss I was handily defeated by Soontir Fel and his herd of 3 glorious space bulls!Any instance of U-Boats failing, yet?
Yeah, there were a couple of really tight games there. Soontir had a big bounty on his head it seemed, and while the first group of scouts couldn't get him, the second group did. In the end, Soontir fell (sorry). Great games against you and Joey the eventual winner though. It was well worth the drive down for sure.
Gotta give a shout out to Our TO Ethan. He already had first round matchups and table assignments ready before anyone even walked in the doors, and already had plans in place to deal with latecomers it seemed. It was a very organized and well run tournament for sure.

Anthony had RAC / Whisper. I played him 2nd, right before I lost to you. There were 2 Corran / Dash as well.

I beat one pretty well to win the championship, after losing by a 50 or so points to the same player in Swiss (he was 5-0 #1 from Swiss, I was 4-1 #3).

I believe Kanan's ability falls under "once per opportunity" meaning he can only spend 1 focus per attacker. He shouldn't be able to spend 3 tokens to have the attacker roll 0 dice.
Ordnance is real folks. My Bombers carried me to 2nd in swiss after 4 rounds at Game Matrix in Tacoma, WA with a 20 person turn out. Only lost one match by 7 points. Partly due to some crazy die rolls and the fact that I haven't flown Bombers in about a year.
This was after swiss. I dropped due to a conflict.
1) 5 x Gold Sqd. Y-wings w/ ABT (this was just decimating folks, luckily I didn't have to face it, only undefeated list)
2) Inquistor w/ PTL, Title, ATs (me)
2 x Gamma Sqd. w/ Homing, Siesmics, Guidance and Extra Munitions
Black Squadron w/ Crackshot
3) 3 x Scouts w/ deadeye, torps, etc.
4) Torkhil
Transdoshian Slaver?
Thug (sorry, don't know the specifics to this list)
After I dropped a 8 Tie Swarm was 4th. I don't know the final standings.
Homing missiles + Guidance chips normally netted me at least 3 hits and most of the time 4 hits. The only time I didn't get at least 3 hits was when I rolled blank, blank, blank, focus and re-rolled that with the TL to get blank, blank, blank, focus Of course that was against Soontir Fel. He did take two bombs though and the black squadron finished him off The Bombs where also MVPs. I hit so many things with them. People always forget about them.
The Inquisitor is pretty good. His dial is amazing, but I was missing green 2 banks. If you want to shred stress and go quickly you need to go straight. He hits harder than Fel usually and he's a bit sturdier if your dice crap out. I lost him only once in my first match which I lost. He doesn't do so well against PS 9 of course. You are playing the guessing game. I need to fly him a bit more to get used to keeping him at a distance. He really wants to be out of range 1 and preferably range 3.
Edited by Jo JoGames of Berkeley, 24 players, 3/19/16. Crazy quick, close, and exciting final game. Look for it when released on YouTube by Trinity Squad Gaming.
1st (4th Swiss) - Bernie L - Dengar, Tel Travura
2nd (3rd Swiss) - Jeff Wilder - Biggs (R2-D6, Integrated Astromech), Keyan (Opportunist, ProtonT, Extra Munitions), Wes (Draw Their Fire, R2-D2, Integrated Astromech)
Top 4 (1st Swiss) - Geordan R - Miranda, Ezra, Stresshog
Top 4 (2nd Swiss) - Albert K - Stresshog, Warden x2 (TLT, Tactician), Bandit
Regionals Bye went to Geordan on MoV, as Bernie and I already have one. Everybody in the Top Eight that already owned a range ruler passed theirs down ... so I believe it worked out that all 24 attendees now have range rulers. So that was pretty cool.

Right, I never reduced a single attack by more than one die.
For the record, our store championships this year were 45, 44, 32 (capped at 32) and 50.
Can Phoenix please have its regional back next year?

I may be blind but has anybody else noticed that R5-P8, Punishing One title, and the modification slot for the jumpmaster missing in the list juggler squad builder?
Yeah, they were bugged. Someone ran those at my SC today. I just made sozin fix it just now (manual entry at least, voidstate import still being fixed, not yet done)
voidstate should work now. mu0n MADE me do it.
I think I'm up to at least a dozen bugs or xws typos spotted for sozin since I started entering Juggler data (around 16 tournaments or so)
