To be clear, they have won 6 out of 9 store championships in your area? That is impressive.

I played in the SC at Game On in McCook, Nebraska on Saturday, March 5th and was fortunate enough to take home the trophy. We had 12 players (a great turnout for our tiny town), with two dropping after the first round. We played 4 rounds of Swiss, with no cut.

I brought a typical Danger Zone list:

Miranda Doni w/ TLT, Tactician

Warden Pilot w/ TLT, Tactician

Warden Pilot w/ TLT, Tactician

99 points

It was a very close tournament. I won my first 3 games by a large margin, then managed to lose game 4 spectacularly. At the end we had 4 players with 3 full wins and a loss. Fortunately for me, I had the highest MOV! Lots of great players and great games. Every list was different, with a good mix of all three factions. The other top four lists were:

2nd Place:

Rexler Brath w/ Predator, heavy laser cannon, TIE Mk II

Epsilon Ace

Omega Squadron Pilot

Omega Squadron Pilot

99 points

3rd Place:

Aggressor B w/ Crackshot, Fire-control system, heavy laser cannon, glitterstim, autothrusters

Aggressor C w/ Crackshot, Fire-control system, heavy laser cannon, glitterstim, autothrusters

100 points

4th Place:

Blue Squadron B-wing w/ Fire-control system

Blue Squadron B-wing w/ Fire-control system

Bandit Squadron Z-95

Bandit Squadron Z-95

Gold Squadron Y-wing w/ Ion Cannon Turret, Bomb loadout, Proton Bomb

100 points

Go Rexlar!!!

MJ's Cards and Comics in Wasilla, Alaska on march 5th. We had 12 players, 4 rounds of swiss, no cut. http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1279

I took first with:

Trandoshan Slaver w/ Bossk, Gunner, Tactician

2x Syndicate Thug w/ Unhinged and TLT

Binayre Pirate.

Second place:

Guri + Calculation + Autothrusters

Talonbane Cobra + Push the Limit + Engine Upgrade
Serissu + Veteran Instincts + Hull Upgrade + AutoBlaster

Third Place:

Kath Scarlet + Veteran Instincts + Glitterstim + Cluster Mines + Slave 1 + Anti-Pursuit Lasers + Outlaw Tech + Extra Munitions

Boba Fett + Veteran Instincts + Glitterstim + Mangler Cannon + Outlaw Tech

Moral of the story: Scum rocks! Top 3 scum and no brobots! 5 scum players, 5 imperial and 2 rebel at the event, only 1 brobot list and it was carrying mangler/ion on both in place of HLC.

Highlander Games & Comics, Boonton, NJ on Sunday 3/6. 33 Players

1st: 4 Talas and 2 Red Squads w/ R2 + IA (Me)

2nd: OGP + Palp, Soontir w/ PtL, SD, AT, Vader w/ ATC, Predator & SD

3/4 Dash w/Outrider, HLC, Kyle, PTL, & Anti-pursuit Lasers, Corran w/R2D2, FCS & PtL the other list was 3 Syndicate Thugs w/ TLT, Torkil w/TLT (didnt play him so dont know his last 3 pts)

Not sure who came in 3rd or 4th as we started final table as soon as he finished, I'll do a SC write sometime soon.

Correct. Crack Stimbots have won six of the 9 SC in our area so far. I believe that we have 5 more to go.

That's so odd. I have literally never lost to those. (I faced them again this weekend.) I cannot figure out how people win with them.

Are they usually being run by different players, or is it the same few people running them at every event?

I've only faced them once so far this season, and I won that match, but it was a tough battle.

You gave some input when I brought it up on TC and another one was won since then. Another player in the area and I are discussing it, but it is a strong list against certain things in the meta. You may have cracked the code with your list (or your style of list), but I think there is evidence that it is a strong list and is dominating our meta, in terms of wins (it's certainly not the most popular list), by a combination of other factors as well.

I'm 2-2 against bots this season and 1-1 against that version myself. I handily beat a player that was playing them for the first time and was soundly beaten by a player who has been playing them exclusively this season. I think I had a list that can beat it, but I was out of practice and did not play well. However, as I mention above, I think it's a strong list and especially strong in our meta for probably a variety of reasons.

To answer your question, we have had only one repeat winner and 5 different players of those six SC winners. I would say that two of the players that won with them are "dedicated" to them, at least for the SC season. One of them won our regional last year with the VI version of them and placed at World's in 2014. Not a surprise that he's the repeat winner.

You select a high-value enemy target, you shoot at it, and then you use Crack Shot to make sure it dies. You then have two FCS-HLC Bots against whatever is left over.
I'm 20-3 with them. It's quite effective.

Stuffnpodunk Games in Belleview, FL held their first Store Championship yesterday. 53 players.

4th TLT Y, 2x TLT Y R4 Agro, N'dru Suhlak VI/Cluster Missiles/Glitterstim

This list seems pretty interesting to me. It's a nice mix of TLT and ordnance alpha strike. I am starting to see some ordnance in these lists even before Guidance Chip is out.

A punisher won a store championship :D

Details later

I'd like to hear those details later.

Thanks, that list was my little baby. took 2nd in a 52 person SC last weekend, of course there was a ton of luck involved. Faced quad tlts three times, A win and a loss against the same guy, he beat me in swiss with 1 Ywing left on 3 hull and was undefeated going into the semifinals where I beat him with 1 wing left on 3 hull. Fatigue had set in and he killed the non-R4 ywing first. The other time against quad tlts was in the quarter finals where our last ships killed each other on the same turn / ps step, I only progressed because I had initiative that game. Beat Palpmobile - 2 aces twice that tournament. I'd developed that list to fight Gage Middleton's Palp 2 aces list. He'd beat me 4 times in a row and is a regular winner in the Florida meta. I'd get close with other lists, but could never seal the deal.

Anyway, can't wait for guidance chips. That was the exact thought behind it. A little spiky damage in the beginning to make the first ship go down fast, then dominate the attrition. Tried Lonewolf, but VI is really needed for all the strong PS 8 in the meta right now. And the extra point let me upgrade an unhinged to an R4, which proved more useful than lone wolf.

Even if Ndru doesn't do anything, he pays for himself by the way he affects the game state.

Pasttimes in Niles, Illinois had a 55 player Store Championship yesterday. 55 players! We started at noon and finished just after 2 am. Ron and his wife Andrea did their usual amazing job and set up an incredible collection of prizes.

The tournament was run using TOME (the gaming stores' computer doesn't like Java, so no Cryodex), and since TOME's output format is still un-intelligible net.slop, we don't have round-by-round results. Nevertheless here's the tournament in juggler with some of the lists: http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1294

I took down first with my Imperial A-holes list:

Omega Leader + Juke + Comm Relay
Omicron Group Pilot + Emperor Palpatine
Wampa
Carnor Jax + Push the Limit + Autothrusters
(100)

Second place was a straight-up five ship Rebel list:

Bandit Squadron Pilot

Bandit Squadron Pilot
Gold Squadron Pilot + Twin Laser Turret
Rookie Pilot + R3-A2 + Integrated Astromech
Roark Garnet + Twin Laser Turret + Recon Specialist
(99)

In the semi-finals I got revenge against the list that beat me in Swiss, Francois' wicked 3 ship Rebel list:

Airen Cracken
Jan Ors + Blaster Turret + Moldy Crow
Miranda Doni + Twin Laser Turret + Extra Munitions + Homing Missiles + C-3PO + Seismic Charges + Advanced SLAM
(100)

That Homing Missile comes in at 6 attack dice with target lock and focus! (+1 die for Miranda, +1 die from Jan, and a focus or TL passed from Cracken). Insane! Carnor was lucky to have survived it.

As per usual, the prize support offered was absolutely sick. Here's the first half of the table ...

And the second half:

And my take o' the loot:

That Miranda list is sweet, no denying.

They've won 2 of my 4 local SCs.

cool. standard loadouts? HLC+FCS?

I look forward to seeing the squad list.

No surprises apart from drain

Got your EU ATC vader vi

Juke relay omega

And the star: ac deathrain with conner seismics

And tie mk2 which did nothing but make me almost lose a bid to an opposing palp ace PS 11 vader (good thing I'm so skilled at roll ofs, eh?)

I actually tried something like this. Okay against aces, but I found Deathrain ATE it vs TLT. Vader too without Palp. Slowly gets whittled down by TLT.

yup

I got exceptionally lucky today as it seems everyone brought their TLT counter, but not their TLTs :o

brobots and palp aces everywhere and only one TLT spam I am so happy I didn't get matched against

mainly brought deathrain because I wanted wave 8 to be out by now ( :( ) so I could fly Redline, but without chips I know all I would have done was count the hits I could've gotten...

so far, this was the only SC event in NYC not won by palp aces :D

edit:

runner ups were

brobots B & C (HLC, crackshot, stims, fire control, thrusters)

Palp Ace variant 1 (VI Vader with tie mk2 instead of eu, soontir with targeting instead of stealth and jammer Palp shuttle)

Palp Ace variant 2 (Soontir without second mod, carnor with PTL thrusters stealth, jammer palp shuttle)

we had TLT spam (Mux TLT, 3 thugs TLT unhinged) make the cut at 4th (brobots were 5th before cut), but he had to drop (only time I've ever been happy about that :P )

followed by a two ship Oicuun + Vessery (pre-fix!)

can't remember

and TLT Roark leading 3 FCS B-wings

Yep. Different players each time, though.

You are all making it very difficult for me to not take Crackbots to the tournament I'm attending this weekend having only played them once.

TLT Question? Couldn't figure it out with the website.

So How many store championships and how many 4 TLT, scum and rebel, have finished in the top 8 and how many have won?

How do i get this using the website?

oh man, do you have to work for that luxury

for example, here's a casual game at the same store, some time ago

12694545_10156443205230142_3450342789879

you gotta work up from that before you can play on this

Congrats on the win sozin!

I've actually started flying the same list last week. It started with replacing Vader in the Palp, Wampa, Omega, Vader variant. I didn't like Vader without Engine and also didn't like how that list was weak versus TLT. Jax seemed to be the perfect replacement giving AT, boost and a really nasty ability. All 4 ships screw with target priority.

It would be awesome if you could do a battle report or have an indepth discussion on your matchups in the next S&V podcast.

TLT Question? Couldn't figure it out with the website.

So How many store championships and how many 4 TLT, scum and rebel, have finished in the top 8 and how many have won?

How do i get this using the website?

I don't know how you do it via the website, but if you ask sozin nicely you can get the SQL data directly. However I don't think it stores repeated ships (am I reading the schema wrong, sozin?), so I have to look at the pretty text to determine which lists have 4 TLTs.

For the 159 tournaments entered so far, we have

  • Store Championship lists entered this year: 3961
  • Lists we actually have ship data for: 2412
  • With 4xTLT: 49
  • That made top 8 elimination: 19
  • Top 4: 18
  • Top 2: 10
  • Won: 6

...That doesn't seem right. I can't believe fewer than 50 quad TLTs have been flown in total -- it seems like it should be an order of magnitude off, but at least here in the SF Bay Area that does seem to be the case (4xTLT is a rarity). Someone else please check my numbers.
