"As long as there are Corrans there will be Wampas."

-Bible name + some numbers

2nd Rainbow 2:14

Actually that logic is kind of flawed: As long as there is Corran and Whisper and As, we should see also Proton Bombs and Adv Homing Missile. But neither of those have a big enough area of hit to really be useful/

proton bombs = ugh five point limited use bomb

adv homing = ugh 3 point limited use missile with TL requirements and ****

Wampa = Tie Fighter that just so happens to sometimes ignore green dice (including focus/evade/thrusters; everything and anything because **** you that's why) and shields

Wampa was the MVP of my list. Not only did he trigger his ability against Whispers and Corran, he basically made my opponents fly their lists differently. Having the tactical advantage is more important to winning than anything else in this game.

I used Wampa in my list as well. Hitting an opponent with one of the shots being a crit and then waiting to see the results before deciding to push the damage card through is huge (especially in R1). Aces ignore him at their own peril. He's PS4, so he's good against generics as well just in general. And, his ability is very similar to a "soft" crack shot, where if you get a crit, and your opponent rolls evades, even more than he needs, you can still get a damage card in.

I won a store championship with Boba, VI, Slave 1, Extra Munitions, Proton Bombs, Homing Missiles, Engine Upgrade, Weapons Engineer and Vader with VI, X1, ATC, Engine Upgrade, Proton Rockets.

It's 97 points. So when I face someone also with PS 10 they're automatically given initiative. 2 point initiative bid? That's cute.

An opponent of mine forgot about my proton bombs. Got a direct hit on his Vader through shields. Next game we face each other in the elimination phase and he forgets again. Full health Echo takes a direct hit, and Vader takes one from the proton bomb. We're not going to let him forget about that one haha.

Prockets on PS 11 engines Vader carry so ******* hard. "and that's 5 hits".

I'll get around to posting the top 4.

How many players?

I'm just sitting here waiting for the list for that Guri/Xizor store champ winner in Tennessee. I have GOT to see this! I love the variety of winning lists this year.

I attended the store championship at Blackfyre Games in Pleasant Grove, Utah. I believe there was just over or under 40 players. Winner was undefeated all day and had perfect MOV through swiss.

Winner Paul D

Warden w/ TLT, Tactician x2

Bandit

Gold w/ R3A2, TLT, title

2nd Place Bryce N

Gold w/ Ion cannon Turret, R2 astro

Poe w/ Pred, R5-P9, autothrusters,

Miranda w/ TLT, Tactian (pretty sure tactician)

Wasn't there for the cut, so not sure what the other 2 lists were. Saw a LOT of the Tie/FO, and a couple Brobots, but really diverse overall.

Perfect MoV through Swiss? That's better than I have done with the list, although I have come close through 3 rounds of Swiss. I believe the first time he saw his list was when he played vs me in TC Aces relegation round 1. Now I have to go pick his brain about any new tactics he might have picked up. :-D

This is insane! Way to go Paul! I can't even imagine going 5 games with that list and not losing a single ship, especially the Bandit or Stresshog who are relatively easy targets.

Thanks man!

Panic Attack 2.0

Not losing a ship, even a Z is INSANE....

All this Wampa talk is going to make me go out and buy the Gozanti... -_-

I fought a Wampa/Palp/Vader/Omega leader list. I left Wampa and Palp for last because the only ships with less than 4 hull I brought were Zs.

Thats not really a knock on Wampa. No ship is good at every match up. But for 14 points he puts some fear in alot of common ships, and against everything else he's still a super cheap TIE Fighter.

Hollow Mountain in East Lansing, MI

25 players, 5 rounds Swiss, cut to Top 4

1st (me) 5-0 swiss, 880 MoV (boo half point big ship rule, makes me look less cool :P )

Whisper + VI + FCS + ACD

Captain Oicunn + Predator + Ysanne + Palpatine + Engine

100 pts

2nd (Ethan) 4-1 swiss

Poe + VI + Autothrusters + R2D2

Jake + VI + PTL + Proton Rockets + Autothrusters + Title

Gray Squadron Pilot + TLT + R3A2 + BTLA4

99 pts

Top 4 (Joe G.) (lost to 2nd place) 4-1 swiss

Howlrunner + Crackshot

3 x Black Squadron Pilot + Crackshot

Wampa

Omega Leader + VI

100 pts

Top 4 (Eric B.) (lost to 1st place) 4-1 swiss

Roark + TLT + Recon Spec

3 x Blue Squadron + FCS

100 pts

And technically, 4th place after swiss was 7 x Academy Pilots and Backstabber, but he dropped to prevent some re-matches from swiss to elimination, and to watch his friend Ethan play, which was really nice of him, and great for Eric who was 5th in swiss.

This was a really great tournament, I saw a LOT of solid X Wing be played. I had to pull out some really funky moves with Whisper + Oicunn to beat some solid lists. In swiss I got to play against 1) 4 x TLT + Recon spec Scum HWKs, 2) Dual IG + Predator + Mangler + AT + Glitterstim + IG2000 + Adv Sensors, 3) Joe Gs Crack/Om Lead VI Swarm, 4) Soontir + Juno + Palp Shuttle, 5) 7 x Academies + Backstabber. Lucked out with no VI Vader or VI RAC in the mix, but the Roark, VI Om Lead, and VI Poe with PS9 Init bid Jake sure had me scared.

I just really love this game, love the diversity in the current meta, and love it when cool things happen, even when they negatively impact me. Though, winning helps, I suppose, haha.

Great job to all players, and thanks Hollow Mountain for making room and not turning away any players even though we went above the 20 player original cap.

I have everything enter that I have. I am missing 1 list. Can anyone help who was there?

Amuse n Games (Winnipeg, Canada)

Turnout: 27 Players

Top 4 after Swiss:

1. Adrenalbots (basically Crackbots, but Adrenaline Rush instead of Crackshots) (6-0)

2. 3 TLT K-Wings (one Miranda) and Tactician

3. Boba + 2 TLT Ys (one Kavil)

4. Guri + 2 Black Sun Ace!!!

Saw lots of variety in squad lists today. Strangely, not many Poes...or maybe not so strange since that dude can be super awesome one game, and go down pretty hard the next.

I played against:

Brobots (with VI, Manglers, Advanced Sensors, and Bombs)

Whisper, Echo, and Dark Curse

Soontir, Carnor, and I believe Turr

The triple Ks with Tactician

Guri + Black Suns

I was running the Adrenalbots. :) Mainly because it's funny seeing droid junkies doing 'stims and Point Break-ing it all over the place. I've nicknamed IG-B Bodhi and IG-C Johnny Utah.

Anyone know how the Covenant SC finished?

I left after Swiss, but I did face one of the Top 4 during the day. He had Doomshuttle, Fel, 2x CrackFOs.

Keith went undefeated until the final, where he lost to two TLT Y's and Chewie as detailed above.

Keith was flying Poe/VI/Thrusters/r5p9; Asty/VI/Thrusters/R2D2; Gold/BTLA4/TLT/R3A2

Top Deck Games in Westmont, NJ had their SC on Sunday. 40 players total.

Black sun aces winning a 40-person store champ. Very cool.

^Agreed. Never would have thought we'd see 2 Khirazxh in a championship list. Makes me want to try the 5 K list!

Very impressive. With a Shield Upgrade and Glitterstim, I imagine they can be quite beefy. I'm wondering how integral the Black Sun Soldiers blocking aces and shooting before TLTs are to the list.
