Thoughts on this list

By miedomeda, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I recently found out about the warlord - H9 trick, and wanted to build a list around it. Here it goes.

Awesome!

- Warlord ( 8 points)
- Ruthless Strategists ( 4 points)
- Boosted Comms ( 4 points)

Raider-II Class Corvette (48 points)

Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)

Fleet created with Armada Warlords

Reasoning behind the list is that the famed fireball is awesome, so awesome that in fact many people build their list to specifically counter it. This list is a counter to those counters, featuring both a full optional fireball and a very strong anti squadron support in the form of warlord and the raider. Raider is there to provide OP as well, leaving enemy ships open to Demolisher salvos and of course fireball's anti ship fire. Demolisher, well, you know, is just Demolisher.

I see a few weaknesses tho, first of all the lack of many hull points in a zip in and pew pew list. What do you guys think?

What goes into Hyperspace?

Edit: I used to be a fan of Warlord/H-9. Adding Ruthless Strategists to the mix is an awesome synergistic upgrade, esp. as your Firesprays can take a bit of damage.

That'd be Demolisher, but I'm not completely sold on that objective nor on superior positions.

Superior Positions is always solid. I would never do Hyperspace assault with only 3 ships, but that's just me. Anyway, you have a 9-pt bid, so you should go first more often than not.

Raider-II with OP...I dunno. While it's always nice to exhaust unspent defense tokens, you don't really bring anything that synergizes all that well.

Might consider what you say regarding hyperspace assault, you're probably right.

As for Raider II, it's there to provide yet another layer of AS support (ideally enemy squadrons in both front arcs shouldn't last more than a couple of turns at best) and to support my squadrons in dealing consistent damage peeling defenses off... I might add that's the only ship that fits in my desired point buy, at least the only one if one absolutely wants to field the Demolisher as I do.

I'm totally open to suggestions tho, what would you suggest instead?

If you really want the Raider to be for AS support then invest in one of the Raider titles
