Other than Omicron Group Lambda pilots (who, realistically, are taken for either Palpatine or Vader/Gunner anyway), does anyone ever actually use the generic pilots from the large base ships? I don't think I've ever seen one in play either in person or on batreps from championships etc.

Are they even worth printing at this point?

Generic firespray for imperial have always been used since release. I've seen patrol leaders loaded up with Vader as well (horrible point sink). Lambda's can be pretty maneuverable with EU. But there are options, just not super popular ones.

As mentioned above, the Bounty Hunter is a decent all-rounder. Nothing particularly stunning about it, but it's not terrible. The rear arc makes it useful, and with a single upgrade, like a Recon Specialist or a Seismic Charge, it gets pretty good.

Back in Wave 2/Wave 3, it wasn't odd to see someone running Bounty Hunters and Omicron shuttles in lists, and the triple Bounty Hunter was a thing for a while.

Where it stands now in the current meta is a whole other situation. I'm not sure how 3 Bounty Hunters would stack up, though I wouldn't mind one day trying a RecSpec Bounty Hunter again in a serious list.

Playing a Trandoshan generic tonight

The generic is probably the best 666 pilot, at least in my opinion, bossk makes a better captain than helmsman. In general however if you're dropping the points for a large ship you might as well go all in.

Firespray-31s and YV-666s cost too many points for the performance they give.

Poe Dameron with Autothrusters for the same price as a naked Firespray. Fully loaded YV-666 comes to about what you pay for two TLT Y-wings.

Aggressors are pretty decent, at least better than a Defender. You don't need to use 2 of them every time.

If only tournaments were 120 points!

Tournaments will never be 120, there is no need. Defenders will be fine once vets drop. The Firespray has already proven to be just fine for its points, and a naked YV-666 makes a excellent anvil for many lists.

I went 9-2 in a league using a list involving a generic YV-666(Bossk, Gunner, Tactician).

I also won a tournament with another generic YV build innvolving Greedo, K4, and HLC.

The only large generics that probably won't see play are the YT-1300 and YT-2400 without a cannon. Lots of points for 2 red dice, even in a turret, is not that great.

Other generics have a place.
