Imperial Tournament List

By HistoryGuy, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have a tournament list I want to try. What do you think?

Maarek Stele (33)

TIE/x1

Deadeye

Cluster Missiles

Advanced Targeting Computer

Major Rhymer (35)

Munitions Failsafe

Cluster Missiles

Concussion Missiles

2 Zeta Squadron Pilots (16 each)

I may switch out Munitions Failsafe for Wired on Rhymer.

Not such a fan of Wired on Rhymer. The only way he'll end up stressed is red maneuvers (or opposing unit abilities and upgrades), so Adrenaline Rush may work even better. But he lives and breathes ordnance, so Munitions Failsafe is a good call.

If you had access to Extra Munitions, I would suggest dropping Deadeye and Cluster Missiles from Maarek Stele, and use two points for Extra Munitions and the other three points for Predator on Maarek Stele. Oh, you'd have to have Predator, too.

Is your signature accurate? I don't see the Imperial Raider listed, which you obviously have if you're using Advanced Targeting Computer and the TIE/x1 title. Assuming you only have what's in your signature, I might move Cluster Missiles and Deadeye from Rhymer, and use the points for Deadeye and Concussion Missiles on Rhymer. Concussion Missiles are good, and being able to fire them at range 1 is pretty swell. Of course, then Rhymer is worth a lot of points, and becomes a huge target for your opponent.

If you want to avoid Rhymer the Bull's eye, you could scrap him and just have a Scimitar Sq. Pilot with Proton Bomb, and use the rest of the points for "Howlrunner," and fly your five ships in a block together. Kind of goes afar from the squad you posted.

Until the latest 'fixes' for ordnance are released I'd run ordnance on rhymer that doesn't require spending of TL/focus.. like HM/AHM. Failsafe doesn't jive well with the harder hitters IME btw. I like it for some ships that carry flechettes though. For rhymers EPT I feel it really needs to be vet instincts. Hes fragile and lives by target locks.

Steele I'd be more inclined to run with predator. I love flying him but he needs dice mods and deadeye is essentially 1 use here making it worse. The other option which I'd suggest is changing those clusters to prockets. 5 shots + pred + focus should vape something.

Yes my signature is accurate. I'm borrowing the three upgrades on the TIE Advanced so I don't want to borrow any more or I'd feel like I was taking a list that wasn't really mine. That also means I don't have VI, Predator, Prockets, or Extra Munitions.

The reason I went with Deadeye and Cluster Missiles on Maarek was because I misread the Advanced Targeting Computer and thought it worked on any attack, but its just the primary attack. I took it off and gave a Proton Torpedo to Rhymer.

So Rhymer is my heavy hitter with his ordnance, Maarek is his cover and the more balanced hitter. The two TIE/fo are my flankers.

I'm at 99 points now.
