In media - mention on Limitless

By valvorik, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Didn't see anyone already post this, but there was a mention of "a cool cooperative board game called Arkham Horror" and Lovecraftian horror on the TV show limitless. Someone among writers etc. must be a fan (I can't see Arkham/Lovecraft actually figuring in the show's plot).

I haven't seen the episode, but someone mentioned it over at BGG, as well (I'm not sure if it was you). I'm curious of the context. I remember an episode of Big Bang Theory in which they were playing Elder Sign.

The context was a geeky workplace associate (not seen before I think) suggests that the protagonist (slacker turned genius FBI consultant) should join him and others playing this great game (insert description), narratively this is an unwanted distraction in elevator when hero is with someone he needs to talk to discretely (the english-accented black man who is the all-purpose thug of the Senator) but can't because the geeky guy has joined them to pitch this game.

Interesting...I'll have to pull it up on Hulu.

I don't think so ...about this...

Mentioned again! Same background IT guy complaining Finch hasn't joined them for Arkham Horror for a while.

Also on same episode a passing reference to the Necronomicon as a stolen object being sold on darkweb.

Obviously we have a Lovecraft fan writing or producing or something for this show!

The "suspect" cards Brian was making in this last episode, 19 "A Dog's Breakfast," were the exact replication of the Investigator cards for Arkham Horror.

Yup, another more subtle reference! So we need to make a Strange Eons Brian character now "slacker with moments of genius"

My wife didn't understand why I couldn't stop laughing on that reference, very nice subital writing there. It was nice seeing the reference to playing the game, then seeing it influencing his "crime" investigation skills.
