So I've been thinking about picking up an interceptor, and the Imperial aces set, and I'm wondering what kind of list I could put together with those ships. Now, I would only be using cards from those sets, As I don't have many ships (a few Y wings, X wings, regular TIEs, K wing, and a Gozanti). So is there a decent list available using cards and ships (imperial only, of course) found in those sets? Thanks.
What makes a decent TIE interceptor list?
Depends on how many interceptors you want to run. Whether you want generics only or named only or a mix. Honestly, there's tons of different ways to go about it.
Push the limit is the EPT of choice in like 95% of the time. Some other EPTs that you could look at are VI or possibly lone wolf (3 ship build only, really).
By the sound of it, you will have 3 interceptors and no access to autothrusters (too bad, its kind of auto-include for interceptors, even generics). I'm not sure if you have 3 push the limit cards but from your description, probably not, so that means you can't really run 3 aces. Also doesn't look like you have VI or lone wolf, so your ability to do this list 'right' is very limited...
How about:
Fel w/ push the limit + shield = 34
Jax w/ push, royal guard, hull + shield = 36
alpha = 18
academy = 12
100
If you get more cards, you could do something more competitive, such as:
Fel w/ push, royal, autos + target comp = 34
Jax w/ push, royal, autos + hull = 34
Turr w/ push + autos = 30
98
A lot of people are crazy over having stealth on their interceptors, so you could put that on Fel & Jax and still be at 99 points (this kind of list does not like being at 100 because you want to pass initiative to your opponent whenever they have ships with same PS as yours---except Turr, he likes to shoot first against PS7 or lower opponents)
Regardless a word of warning: Triple squints is one of the most difficult lists to fly and is very punishing on piloting errors. If you don't see blocks coming and move right into them, or if you put your ships in bad positions (on rocks or in the sights of most of your opponent's guns) your ships will die fast and it will be very difficult to win. Be prepared for a steep learning curve! Good luck!
