Huge ship energy and Construction droid

Right! A huge ship, when taking energy are you limited to the amount shown on the ship card ie Gozanti energy 4 (not including added title cards etc.) or could you have say one energy on a weapon and then four energy on the ship card?

Or is it that you can only have in total the amount shown on the ship card spread across the upgrade cards ie Gozanti takes 4 total energy, allocates 1 energy to laser turret which leaves 3 energy on the ship card.

With Optimized Generators it seems like you can allocate energy and then regain back a couple energy thus giving you energized weapons and a ship card full of energy.

Also when you start the game is your Huge Ship loaded with energy, that is full energy on the ship card and full energy in what ever weapons are present?

And can someone please link me to the latest ship rules/FAQ. Cheers.

Now the Construction Droid "when you perform a Recover action, you may spend 1 energy to discard 1 facedown damage card.", the problem here is that when you take a recover action you must remove ALL of your energy tokens from your ship card which leave none to be spent on the Construction Droid's ability!

So is this supposed to work as a nested ability? Play Recover action/ trigger C.Droid spend energy remove damage card/ resolve Recover action?

Huge ships start will full energy and all secondary weapons with full energy. Non-weapon cards do not get energy at this time.

The energy is allocated to the cards so you can have above your full ship energy in tokens, but no more than your max energy limit assigned to your ship.

Optimized Generators gives you energy tokens back after you spend an energy token, but at any time you have more than your max energy value you have to discard them. So if you gain energy above your max value, and since "Gaining Energy" phase is before "Allocating Energy" phase, you would have to discard down to max before assigning. O.G. would allow you to move the extra energy generated from it before discarding because you are gaining this energy during the "allocating energy" phase and you won't have to discard down until the end of that phase.

You get to choose the order as it is two of your own abilities going off at the same time. You would choose the Recover action, resolve the Construction Droid ability, then spend your remaining energy on the recover action. You could also do the reverse, but this way would leave you with no energy for the C.D. and is, therefor, clearly not the best way to resolve it.

Now in the rules the FAQ and Epic tournament rules I can't find where it shows that a ship can have everything at full energy!?
Also as another point, the Gozanti set comes with 6 energy tokens (ship card max 4, title card 2+, Dual laser turret 1) so if you start the game with full energy with just this set alone using those 3 cards you would be one energy token short!, surely if this was the way they would have supplied 7 tokens? (with that the book says that it comes with two target lock tokens TT/UU which it doesn't).
This is where myself and gaming mates are getting confused, in the Gozanti book it's "The max number of energy tokens that a Gozanti's Ship card can have is it's energy limit", only other mention is of 'allocating energy' to other cards etc.in the allocation step.

This. You gain whatever energy your dial shows and put that in your main ship pool (up to your max). Then you allocate to your weapon(s).

Yes, you would be one short. I imagine most people will have more than one huge ship, until then use whatever replacement you like (e.g.: pennies).

Alternately to Sergovan's suggestion, you might use a Shield Technician card (almost a no-brainer at 1 point) which lets you decide how much energy to spend on a Recover (1:1 energy:shield).

While some upgrades allow you to have extra energy than what is on the ship, other upgrades require energy.

I'm guessing you have to assign 1 energy to the laser then you can spend that one energy to use it.

It's not increasing your supply limit.

I don't have the gozanti yet, but just from having all other big ships I assume that's what it is

I'm thinking your getting the duel laser turret confused

While some upgrades allow you to have extra energy than what is on the ship, other upgrades require energy.

I'm guessing you have to assign 1 energy to the laser then you can spend that one energy to use it.

It's not increasing your supply limit.

I don't have the gozanti yet, but just from having all other big ships I assume that's what it is

Nah wasn't that that was the prob it was finding the rules that stated how much energy you could start with and/or if you had the max amount on the ship card and max on a hard point(s), which I found in the latest Epic tournament rules, all huge ships start with full energy on the ship card and hard point weapons cards, although seems that for standard epic play and campaign the energy is set to on or not powered up!

I like the tournament way as why have your ship powered down?.

The Gozanti's Dual Laser Turret takes one energy.

It seems to me that both the recovery action and the construction droid effect happen at the same time? Should this outcome be possible?

Gozanti uses a recover action

  • Trigger construction droid, spend 1 energy to discard 1 facedown damage card.

Recover action continues, all remaining energy is spent, recover that many shield (up to shield maximum, naturally).
