Rebels - K-wing, both as a TLT gunship or as a pure bomber.
Imperials - Tie Bomber, just love four of them together with bombs and missiles.

Originally it was the TIE and I always came back to it after my time with other favorites, but I spent some time loving Interceptors, then YT-2400's, Currently I am totally in love with the T-70. It just feels so good.

Could even be as mad as to run him without upgrades! ![]()
The T-70 is fast becoming my favourite thing ever, the x wing dial is great and the 70 is just that little bit better.
Every time I do a tallon roll I say "let me show you a little trick I learned". I just enjoy rebel fighters in general, especially things with an x wing style dial (z95, both x wings, the e wing) basically I've got acces to most maneuvers I'd actually want to do, great slow speed performance and the ability to haul ass if need be.
The b wing dial has some nasty surprises for people, the y wing flies like a pig, it's a great ship but it's dial is garbage. I flew Han out recently and I forgot how different it flew from the big ships I more commonly see, i actually felt the lack of a 3 turn, it's quite easy to block in a tight situation.
Y-Wing has always been one of my favourites and once Scum come out I was hooked all over again! Kavil in particular.
YV-666 is massively underrated. Used properly it's a beast.
Tie Interceptor is a little overpowered but so much fun to fly.
Honourable mentions to Punisher, Kihraxz & Firespray.
What do you consider proper use of the YV-666? As cheap as possible? ~50 points of Bossk?
Properly was maybe the wrong word. "Used well within your gameplan" is probably better. As long as you plan around its limitations it's strong.
Personally I like 2 Slavers with Mangler, K4, Outlaw Tech, Gunner, Engine Upgrade & Feedback Array. Keep them close-ish together, overlapping arcs and don't be afraid to do a full stop and Feedback if people are behind you. Tricky to use but it's better than it sounds.
50 points of Bossk is great fun. Calculation, Mangler, Outlaw & K4. 45 points of awesome.
Tripler Slavers with K4 and Damps for me.
Nice! K4 is so good.

Here you can find my current "properly used" YV-666, is working very well for me.

Cool. That's a nice list. I'm just glad to see the YV-666 getting some love!
Aggressor. So much to love. Boost (and Autothrusters), System slot, CANNONS, Sloops, Illicit!
Also love T-70 for putting the X back in.
Anything with native Boost, really.
TIE/x7 Defenders all day every day. I loved trips before but the full-on all-out aggressive style of two x7 Deltas fits like a glove.
... the immaculate bb-8 + ptl shenanigans Asty are absolute joys to play
I get PTL with BB-8 but why on Asty? Is it because the stress from K-Turning or T-Rolling normally keeps a ship from being able to use BB-8 the following round? Asty can T-Roll one turn and BB-8 the next.
For me, it's a tie between the T-70 and the E-Wing. With the K-Wing coming in a close second.
Would have to be Bots. The best fun ships to fly are for me easily the IG's they can end up anywhere with AS.

Oh okay yeah speaking of Advanced Sensors, not gonna lie, AS/ID Guri or Xizor is pretty great. I've been meaning to give Wired a try on either of them with those two so they can AS->action, and then SLoop or stop and get a bonus from it. I feel like AS Bots probably wouldn't mind either, and heck they can all take Autothrusters too (and I love the way 'Thrusters and Wired work together).
Really looking forward to PtL/Kanan Sabine for similar shenanigans.

As long as i'm telling it's story in my head then any ship. I prefer aces though.
Vessery, Chiraneu and Vader are 3 I really enjoy. Echo too.
I like my Yv-666. I consider myself a faithful Lizard and I will fly it into the bright new dawn! It rewards tricky flying, trying to get opponents in that side arc after they thought they'd clear you.
Bwings with Advance Sensors (Or the Starviper actually) are really fun ships that allow you to move in really cool ways and I really enjoy flying at a higher PS.
And the TAP is quickly my new favourite imperial ship. It's so fun.

I always play the Star Wars Clone Wars music, then set up the battle with a story when I play with my brother. ![]()
I make lots of narrative / campaign missions.
The Games workshop narrative of 1st-5th ed is stuck deeply in how I play, that is to say in regard to special characters to paraphrase "Look, the galaxy is huge, there are probably other people out there who will fight just like this guy" So my Crimson Fists Lysander is captain Dietrich Helhammer or whatever I called him.
Likewise Vader is Colonel Zechs Daryuuz of the 128th Recon.
Heroes of Aturi turns this to 11.
The StarViper. Amazing ship with its great dial and solid offense + defense capabilities.
I'm pretty sure though that once Imperial Veterans is released, the TIE Defender will be my favorite ship to fly. I always loved it and it will finally be as good as it should be.

It needed to in order to do what it was supposed to and now I think it would suck too much to lose Psycho-Tycho. The 666 is fine with VI or Calculation. Honestly what you want is a 9 point trick that you won't use too often, since with the 180° arc boost will more often than not suffice. Sure, 6 of those points are included in the most common build anyways, but it still is a lot.
My favourite ship now is the Eravana.
All Hail Eravana.
Baleen for Scum Epic President!

Even if it's just every other cargo box gets represented as a Hardpoint, man do I want me some Ordnance Tubes on there.
Well in a certain game for PC, the largest of the super freighters were usually armed quite well. I mean, we're talking two or three turrets per side, with 2 gun nacelles each. A front turret, sometimes main guns, sometimes an upper and lower turret as well. In fact I'm sure they had turrets all around, with plenty of loadout options.
Only trouble was, and you could jump in the gunner seat and see it first hand, most of the gun nacelles had very limited arcs or they were really slow. The larger the weapon usually the slower the turret control but on the SFs it seemed worse. Oh and you usually had room for a few fighters though sadly in that game you couldn't dock anything larger than a fighter in your SF. So here you had this huge ship used for transport, bristling with guns, usually with a fighter escort inside, and lo and behold you spent most fights sitting in the cockpit of your SF drinking coffee. Let the turrets handle it. Gonna make 50 billion creditsssss this run anyways, I can replace the three fighters. Drones are cheap. Um... ctr-shift-J. Jumpdrive. Out.
This is the perfect ship for Old Han, and the perfect Epic for S&V. It could be the Scum Reverse-Gozanti.
Oh what the hell! War story!
So I was bopping around one time in this sector called Bala Gi's Joy, which if you know it it's a bad spot. But I had been making good credits doing trade runs through Pirate Alley; a string of uncontrolled sectors that runs right across the galactic shelf and connects the core sectors to the fringes. It's just one of many ways to go however and since it's uncontrolled that means it's Pirate turf. Bala Gi's sits on the very tail end of the Alley, closest to the core, but it's here that the worst troublemakers reside. Still, these sectors are populated by stations, some Pirate, some not. And they usually pay quite well for their goods, so if you have the capacity, it can be worthwhile. Anyways here I am doing the cargo shuffle. Since TL class ships can only dock fighters and can't dock at smaller stations themselves, I have to either call over a smaller freighter to transport the cargo, or use a fighter. I usually just have a freighter follow me, but it's Pirate Alley. So I have the freighter jump in from another sector, this way it's safer. I am waiting for the freighter to finish up at the station, and I'm almost done.
Suddenly there are three blips on the radar. Red ones. I bring up the sector map to get a better look. It's just three Pirate M3s. Argon Nova Raiders, capable fighters. I already have one so I'm not that interested in the fight. I had already dispatched a similar wave of Pirates a few sectors back so I figure these fellas must be looking to avenge their buddies. I order my freighter to dock at the station it's now just come out of. Command denied, One of Your Ships is Under Attack, Sector Bala Gi's Jo... Holy ****! The station turned red for some reason and began firing turrets at my freighter who now thanks to his failed dock command is sitting plum, eating up HEPT bolts like it's a smorg. A few seconds later the freighter explodes in a ball of green light, his command panel closes and I can see out my viewport the three Novas streaking towards me. More red blips light up the console.
I open up my own command panel and set all my turrets to missile defense. This was my turrets will target missiles first, and enemy ships second. Missiles hurt very much and I've equipped my Albatross to deal with these threats. Flak Arrays all around and Particle Accelerator Cannons up front. If anything gets too close, it's toast. Usually. I also have 7 M3 fighters of my own docked inside the Albatross. I open another panel and command Red Wing to protect me. My mixed fleet of M3 fighters go streaking out towards the Novas who are now pouring green bolts into me. I'm okay. I look on the sector map to see what all these other blips are about. More fighters. M3s, M4s, and M5s. Well. Maybe I might be screwed. But no good Captain just leaves his fighter escort to die! Hell no! I push the throttle all the way up and start lumbering towards the red blips. After about 5 minutes of chugging along, I've only lost a couple ships, my shields are holding. I'm listening to the Flak Arrays barking and watching these poor Pirates try to get out of my way. The ship I'm flying probably makes the Eravana look small. I think, hey I'm doing alright. Another wave of fighters appears out of the same gate as before, only this time I'm 500k closer. They're right on me in no time. My fighters intercept them and another furball ensues. Since I'm so close, now my own fighters are getting it from the Flak, so I order them to attack all enemies and I begin to roll my ship away from the scrap. The fighters are on their own. I should call in reinforcements or book it. Like a fool I call for back-up. Five sectors away sits The Impregnable, an Argon M2 class destroyer. She has served me well throughout Operation Final Fury and now she waits in Argon Prime for just a situation as this. In about 5 seconds flat I have her command panel open and she is on a jump order. Her turrets are auto-set to attack enemy ships and her jump position should put her right in the middle of the incoming Pirates. All I have to do is wait.
I've lost most of my fighters now as more Pirates keep pouring out of this gate. I keep waiting for it and finally it comes. Pirate Centaur, an M6 corvette class usually used to protect... that. Right out of the gate, a Pirate Carrack, the dreaded Pirate frigate class. Usually not a problem but here I am in a lousy TL class Albatross with half shields, a mostly dead escort, and nowhere to run. The Carrack is on me in moments and sure enough she has the Incendiaries. As soon as I see the telltale blast I'm on my comm panel punching in a jump. That sector, there. Sure, let's go. The Jumpdrive countdown starts just as my shields go flat. The Carrack is about 300m away and firing full broadside. I'm not going to make it. I open up the very last fighters comm panel and scroll down furiously, maybe if it's in range I can use my teleporter device to switch ships. The Albatross is almost dead, the Carrack is right on top of me now, she can't survive a ram any more than I can and she needs to bring her turrets to bear. I glance back at the fighters comm screen. Not in range. **** it! The jumpdrive has 5 seconds left. I'm at less than 25% hull. One more hit and I'm dead. I look back a the fighters comm... Change Ship - X! Hit X! Hit X! My screen fades into a shimmering blue light and suddenly I'm behind the controls of a Teladi Kea. I see the bloom from my Albatross exploding behind me. In front of me, a glorious sight. The Impregnable at last! Her hulking form slides out of the gate and I open her command panel setting her orders to attack all enemies. Half an hour later, not only has the Carrack paid for her bloodsport, but so too has the station. Bala Gi's Joy is silent once more, a sleepy backwater sector to lull the unwary merchant into a false sense of security. Though now it will be a long time before another station is built, and hopefully a long time before the Pirates recover enough to launch another attack. I've lost my Albatross and all her cargo, six fighters, and a freighter. I order The Impregnable back home to Argon Prime. Reparing such a large ship with only my space suits repair laser is going to take literally hours of real time so I have to pay for the shipyard to fix her.
I decide to take my Kea and go Pirate hunting. I fly through a couple sectors with no excitement. Then I fly though another gate and immediately I have to perform an evasive. Some clunker TL blocking the gate. Typical Teladi, always clogging up the shipping lanes. As I veer out farther from the TL I notice it's surrounded by a green reticle. It's my Albatross! Apparently the explosion I saw wasn't my TL bursting into flames; it was the jumpdrives engaging! She had survived with 18% hull, just barely managing to escape. If I had waited another second I would have jumped with her, and who knows what would have happened then? I'd have been stuck in hostile space with a junked out TL, waiting for my shields to recharge with no fighter escort. I was lucky the Albatross survived at all. With such extensive damage, many destroyed upgrades, and nothing left but time on my hands, I teleported back aboard and limped her back to a safe sector. I ended up doing the 3 hour space walk anyways, jamming the trigger on my repair laser down with a guitar pick, and reading a book.
I have to say the T-70 due to the tallon roll. Nothing better than pulling the e brake in space!
