Better Ace Hunter? Or Best Ace Hunter?

With the rise of Poe and continued success of Fel and Vader, which of these 2 pilots is the better ace hunter? If not these 2 who would you play and what load out?

Ten numb, much as I enjoy flying wedge.

I know this card is a Catch 22, but I think Opportunist might be good with Wedge. On a good opportunity, reduce their green dice by one, acquire a red dice and a stress.

PTL + BB-8 is supperior. 2-3 actions per turn with the ability to crash into someone you don't want to shoot to avoid being shot by them is pretty solid. I would however drop the Engine Upgrade. You lose mobility, but I think it is too expensive for a trick that is mitigated by PWTs/TLTs. Just the pre movement roll is already pretty good.

Just playing around, how does this sound?

Comes in at a neat 30 points, gets to see it's potential targets manoeuvre, can adjust green/red dial to stay in/near range 1, has the turret to negate any defence shenanigans other than those that directly modify attack dice if needed and to keep the pressure on if she get arc dodged and EU for positioning.

Kraken VI action pass to crack homer Jake, work well enough to not only get the missile shot, but often denies Soontirs auto thrusters. I find that pretty solid, depending on how you feel about homing missile Kraken.

FCS is wasted points on Ten. His ability turns the Mangler Cannon into a 2 Dice weapon, that never gets damage through anyway and as long as you get some type of hit result you get the auto crit going through.

You know you can't boost or barrel roll into someone,right?

Of course I do. You can however only roll pre movement, so the way you do it is pick a green, roll in a way that you manouver ends up crashing you into whatever you don't want to be tanking, PTL for your Focus, execute the manouver, crashing into the enemy and clearing your stress, be a happy Wedge.

Remove engine upgrade from Wedge, it's 4 more points that you don't need to spend. Wedge with PTL+BB-8 alone is enough, I've been flying Wedge with this build for the last 2-3 months and I've had more success with him than with the standard Poe build.

I like it better than Ten for a few reasons: Ten won't always be able to get a shot off, even by moving 2nd. Keyan can pick any speed 2 maneuver and change it to any move he wants, every turn, and still get modified shots. I also just think Ten's ability is dumb, but that is just me.

With my dice FCS is insurance because you still need to roll the hit.

Ten being ps 10 and wedge ps 9 is pretty relevant though. Even knowing your opponents maneuver doesn't always help when they can pull boost/BR afterwards. Its too bad the /E2 takes up a mod slot otherwise I'd love to take ten numb with flechettes tactician and chimps.

Speaking of flechettes if your going with wedge its worth the extra 2 pts if you can squeeze em. They are like a pseudo crackshot on wedge that occupies the torps slot with the added effect of keeping PtL-ers down to 1 action.

That would be 3x Black Squadron, 3x Omega Squadron, 6x Crackshot OP. Have them all point in one direction and delete whatever is in front of it.

Likewise, being able to barrel roll at PS 10 isn't always enough to get a target in line of sight, especially if you guess wrong on a target's break. Intel agent and stay on target offer much better course correction. And it's cheaper.

With my alpha builds that PS bid for an ace kill, 3 blacks 3 FOs with crack is my favorite tie swarm match.

The only 2 aces worth building to counter are Soontir and Whisper. So, you need to be able to frontload damage vs whisper, and reliably hit/hunt Soontir. I like Xisor with fcs and VI for scum anti Soontir, again.. Only works with PS bid. Rebels have a lot of anti soontir tricks, just build a squad that works outside of the Soontir match and you will be fine.
