Original trilogy Armada content still to come

By Ophion, in Star Wars: Armada

Probably this post goes down under "another wave 3 speculation thread"

So I know we all have our favourite (or in my case, preferred forgotton) legends ships that may one day get a run,

But just compling a list of obvious things missing from the original trilogy so far in the game.... whether or not they would be practical to implement...

- The Death Star 1 and or 2

- Super Star Destroyers

- The Emperor!

- The emperors purple flunkies

- Emperors guards

- Moff Jerrijod

- Side burns guy in Ep 4 who suggests Tarkin have his ship standing by (I think you overestimate their chances! - potentially a great card!)

- Admiral Piett

- General Veers

- General Tagge(?) (Deathstar guy worried about the rebellion that Motti likes winding up)

- storm troopers (boarding party?)

- Tyderium type shuttles

Rebels

- Winged mon cal cruiser

- Medium transport

- Massive white mustache guy from Yavin

- General Madine

- Lando in the Falcon

- Obiwan

- Biggs, Porkins and the original red squadron

- planetary scale Ion cannon

- R2D2 and or C3PO

- Chewie!

So potentially a lot of content still waiting to be explored... I'm sure theres more.

I can see a plantery ion cannon. As a objective card. Notbsure on the mechanics

Something like you have to exit off the far side of the board to earn points

- Lando in the Falcon

X-Wing had characters as both ships and crew cards from pretty early on (i.e. Luke) - if Waves 0-2 are any indication, it seems unlikely that Armada will go in the same direction...

Edit: Scratch that, we already have Vader pulling double duty. Derp! :P

Could sideburns guy be Agent Callus?

Could sideburns guy be Agent Callus?

No, he would have died on the death star and Rebels is between the two death stars is it not?

rebels is prior to e4

that's not callus I think, not all people with sideburns are callus, I'm not callus and I got sideburns...

also I feel that general veers is sort of an army ground general, not sure what he would be doing in space...

In the new comics, General Tagge left the death Star in a huff after that meeting and survived, actually taking over from Tarkin and even commanded Vader for awhile

There are also a few ships briefly seen at Endor in Return of the Jedi that are yet to be mentioned:

Tector class Star Destroyer (Basically a hangerless Imperial class)

Wingless Mon Calamari cruiser (same body as the Liberty type just without wings)

Braha'tok class gunship

...I'm not callus and I got sideburns...

How can we be sure you are not Callus?

I wouldn't mind seeing 3 Landos. We have one of him now, but I could see a General Lando Calrissian commander, and a unique squadron.

I would also love a Boba Fett commander. Not because it would make fluff sense, but because it just seems awesome.

Could sideburns guy be Agent Callus?

He's Chief Bast.

I would absolutely LOVE Lando and hopefully Chewie in the Falcon, throw them in a pack with the Lambda and a couple other Squadrons and FFG can take my money!

Maybe admiral piett will be the imperial version of ackbar, only for front arcs.

- The Death Star 1 and or 2

[...]

- storm troopers (boarding party?)

- Tyderium type shuttles

[...]

- Medium transport

[...]

- Lando in the Falcon

[...]

- planetary scale Ion cannon

[...]

- R2D2 and or C3PO

- Chewie!

Jesus.. there is no way to implement a DeathStar in Armada.. do you really thought about that? :D

I see no option how Stormtroopers and imperial Guards could be implemented - We dont got Ground Forces in Armada.. Same with Transport-Stuff like GR75 or Lambda Shuttle...

Lando in the Falcon would be the same like Solo, maybe just with another special rule. So possible in theory, but I dont think so..

R2, 3PO and Chewie could be some Rebel officers with support/engine improvements, but I dont think that they will be seen in Armada either.

EDIT: Speculating about future contents I would like to see some Liberty type star cruisers and Admiral Piett as an imperial Ackbar.

Rather have rouge variants of wave 1 fighters honestly.

If you want your fighters to be red, just paint them.

some people believe Satin is a fallen angle.

I'd have remembered something like that even if it did happen a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Biggs, Porkins and the original red squadron

They are already in the game. They are hit points for Luke's squadron! :P

- storm troopers (boarding party?)

Shuttles carrying boarding parties would be a nice addition to the game.

Death Star 1 & 2 are totally doable, just hang a poster on the wall and grab a laser pointer. The only things that aren't doable in Armada is the stuff between Home One and the Death Star series of battle stations.

I could see r2 bring post of a new game element squadron upgrades.

Storm Troopers/boarding party could be done this way. Discard boarding party during the ships movement phase to reduce damage by one during a collision. Opposing player draws one face up damage card. Make it cost 8 points.

How about Arvel Crynyd, the A-wing pilot that chrashed into the bridge of the Executor, he could have a special rule that if he dies while in base contact of any ship, enemy or otherwise. that ship loses immidiately all command tokens and dials for the rest of the game. ;)

What if Admiral Piett added 2 blue dice for all ships in the front arcs?

Arvel Crynd: "When this squadron is destroyed, deal one face-up damage card to a target ship at range 1." :P

Thanks to Rebels we have a lot of new content we can pick from to accentuate what we don't have yet for "current" canon in the Galactic-civil-war era:

+The Gozanti is likely going to be a support ship opposite of the GR-75. Wookiepedia claims the GR-75 is armed with a couple of twin laser cannons, which is about what the Gozanti carries. Gozanti will probably be more fighter-control-centric than the GR-75's estimated pure support abilities, since Imperial Gozantis actually carry fighters.

+The Arquitens-class cruiser. Frankly I'd like to see this as a small red-dice throwing ship that the Empire could use to beef up their gun line and do what a Nebulon-B firing line does for the rebellion. While I haven't run Raiders in an escort defensive role, I wouldn't mind trading away the flexibility of speed for better armament and better guns than the Raider currently has.

+ The Pelta class, which is hard to say what it does. Would be the opposite of the Arquitens, if the Arquitens isn't a direct answer to the Nebulon-B.

+The Interdictor, presuming they can find a good use for it.

We still have the GR75, Liberty, and Super Star Destroyer as flyable starships from the original trilogy yet to be depicted and I'd wager that at least two of them are certain.
