Just bought this thinking I was getting something on what I see many people fondly call the "mousepad material" as it turns out to be a vinyl print barely thicker than a poster. Contemplating returning it since I see some links float around here for various online print shops and other mat sellers approaching barely half this price. I've been ripped off before and am certainly not discounting it but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something that tangibly differentiates this thing from the ~$30 some of these online printers charge for 6x3 on vinyl.

In the event that I decide to keep it, and I may as it looks very nice, this is just way too thin to be comfortable using, especially as someone who would be taking this to a shop every week or two. Can anyone advise on what I might be able to buy to stick this on to "make" it approximately that mousepad thickness that all the nice FAT mats and other 3x3's for X-wing are on? I first looked at toolbox drawer liner but couldnt find any smooth ones, I see others have used cabinet liner and am currently looking at some simple foam sheeting from jo-ann fabrics.

Thanks!

I use a 3' x 6' yoga mat I got from Amazon. It's got great grip and thickness to it.

Yup, this is what I use, and it's great. I got a black one then used a toothbrush to spatter white paint on it to make a starfield. One of the TO's around here gives me a hard time because I gripe if I don't get to play on it during tournaments. :)

Sounds workable if not exactly what I need, which is simply something to mount this atop of. Care to share any links? I found no yoga mats exactly 6x3 and anything larger was $50-100 so I assume neither of you spent money like that and then cut it.

Ah, sorry... not gonna lie, I skimmed over that middle part of your post. :)

I found a mat that was pretty slip resistant last week I think. . . Hmmmm

Found it!

The Gripmat is definitely good. I have a 3x3 one that I use for X-Wing and it works well. It seems pretty durable too. However, they aren't cheap, and I'm having a hard time finding one that would match the one I have to lay side by side for Armada play. Personally, I am seriously contemplating getting the Yoga Mat myself Seems very inexpensive and should do the job nicely.
