My beginner squad. Ok for casual play?

By DonnieDarkside, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Just looking for advise. I'm new and don't have a lot as of yet, just looking to see if this list works for casual play

Coran Horn

R2-D2, Proton Torpedoes

Gemmer Sojan

Chardaan Refit

Poe

Marksmanship, BB-8.

This is just for casual play with a friend. Till I learn more and get more pices

I have both core sets, rebel aces, and E wing.

I will have a K wing and a Y wing here tomorrow and a B wing next week

Poe is great. Hands down and the Poe you have dialed up did me dirty a few weeks ago. But regen is the meta.

I did the Regen on Coran. Once I get the Rebel transport, Poe will get the Regen as well

Fine for casual play I think.

The only thing I would definitely look at changing is marksmanship on poe.

Because of his special, poe wants to take a focus every turn he can. Making marksmanship an upgrade card that is worse than poe's normal focus ability almost all of the time.

I'd switch it out for push the limit (if you have it) or pretty much any other elite pilot talent.

I was just noticing that. I just don't have any other elite cards really except Wired. That will change this weekend when my other stuff comes in.

I would ditch the torpedoes. I never manage to get much out of them but YMMV.

Absolutely. Beautiful thing, casual play, anything is "viable". Take whatcha like.

Looks good! that is a pretty good start! I just got my rebel aces pack t two days ago and it is pretty awesome!

Just got my K and Y wings today. Ditched torpedoes and marksmanship as well as the A wing and added a Gray Squadron pilot with a TLT and an R2 Astromech

Good man.

TLT Y-wings are evil.

I've never been on the receiving end, but I've flown one a few times and they can really lay the hurt on the faster, more fragile imperial ships.

I've found Horton salm makes a terrifying pilot for the TLT Y-wing, his re-roll ability at range 2-3 means he almost never misses with that thing.

You'd probably have trouble squeezing him into thaalt squad, but you definitely want to try him out in the y-wing at some point.

I kinda was thinking that, but I'd have to either scrap Coran Horn or Poe.

I'd strongly recommend dropping the proton torpedos for whatever sensor comes with the e wing. Fire control is better on Corran but advance sensors is good and fun too. Otherwise you're off to a good start! If you wanna watch some great games of poe corran and an a wing look up Nathan Eide, he took second at world's running just that!

I decided to fiddle around with the build. What I have now is

Coran Horn

R2-D2

FCS

Poe

BB-8

Gold Squadron Pilot

TLT

This leaves me with 2 points. Was thinking VI on Poe
