400 pt. Empire, Shak3 'n Bake (feedback desired)

Hi there, I'm pretty new to Armada but have been really enjoying it with a friend of mine. We are doing a 400 pt game soon, and this is what I'm thinking.

The basic idea is the raiders set up big hits for the ISD and GSD. The GSD and ISD are both there to force tough position choices on his fleet. The raiders also can screen bombers for fleets that use them.

He's been running frigates with mean shield regen and redirect abilities with powerful broadsides, so this is (hopefully) my answer to that.

Please tear it apart and make it stronger!

Without the ability to choose to go first (you've got a pretty low bid) you'll find your gladiator and raiders hung out to dry. With 4 ships you MIGHT get an activation advantage on someone, but you really need to go first so you can move something up at the end of one turn, then go first and get the most out of it.

You'll be amazed... those raiders really, really don't last very long. They're as fragile as corvettes with no MonMotha to help them and NO redirects. So if they do 6 damage and target your brace, you're toast.

Neither of your raiders have the title that allows them to engage enemy fighters. They MIGHT choose to attack you, or then again they may just run away from you so you can't anti-squadron them as well.

The NK-7 ions are VERY expensive. I would actually try to squeeze in the Avenger title on your ISD-2 and swap the ion cannon batteries on the one raider with the NK-7 on the ISD. Now the enemy has two nasty little buggers: One that, if they get a crit, will remove their defense tokens and the other, if it crits, will exhaust them all and leave them open for the avenger to blast them. Now the avenger can use its crit effect for additional shield damage (or also consider the SW-whatever ion batteries on it. If you don't need blue accuracies, might as well let them be extra damage and resolve the standard crit effect!).

Your gladiator would really, REALLY benefit from having the demolisher title. It's pricey, but very worth it.

Also, if redirects have been a problem, consider XI-7 turbolasers. They just completely shut down the redirect token. Paired with an intel officer, you can say "ok, from this attack, if you use your brace it's gone for good, and if you redirect only 1 damage can be redirected away"

That's WITHOUT any accuracy tokens. If he has ECMs, then he shouldn't have much in the way of shield regen abilities unless he's running the nebulon that projects shields.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Haven't flown the raiders yet so they are not of an unknown entity to me right now. I'll look at those changes, maybe drop a raider for some squads.

What fighter weakness is this you speak of? Imperial fighters are amazing.

Imperial fighters have many really useful combos, here are a few:

Howlrunner + Interceptors + flight controllers. The interceptors have 6 anti squadron dice and 3 counter.

Admiral chiraneau + mauler mithil is broken and will really annoy your opponents.

Rhymer is probably the most useful fighter released to date. Self explanatory.

Imperial fighters are just way to specialized and even the fighters with good damage pop like balloons when under attack not to mention the lack of bombers making balancing and imperial squadron list between anti-squad and anti-ship limiting the fighters overall usefulness. and to your interceptor list I like to add a dengar and increase the counter to 4 because **** you enemy attacks
