I am sure this has been done lots before. But general thoughts?

Recon Specialist is the only thing I would advise against. For 3 points C3PO is a better buy (and he'll be widely available soon) otherwise tactician or dropping the E2 in place of fire control system would pump up your ion hit chance/damage output. Could do that with both b wings. FCS Blues are mean bastards.

Ok, was thinking of dropping the Z95 and going for something like this instead

Basically Going to Keyan Farlander on one B-Wing with B-Wing E2, Wing Man, Gunner, FCS and Ion Cannon
One Blue Sqd with B-wing/E2, FCS, Ion Cannon, and Gunner
Gold Sqd with Ion Turret, R3A2 and the BTL-A4 Title
Or just keep the Z-95 and run two Blue Sqd with the title, Ion Cannon, FCS, Tactician in one and Chewbacca or Gunner in the other with the same Y wing build as above.

Why not shave a few points and give the Blue Squadron Nien Nunb? The extra mobility is a surprise to a lot of opponents and you can use the saved points to make the Blue a Dagger and the Gold a Grey. That bit of Predator armor is nice to have when you only roll one green die.

I like the ion cannon, fcs, gunner setup. Force the target to choose between getting one damage and ion or a strong chance of 3 damage. Then again, tacticians could be more devastating since they don't clear the stress when ion'd. Keyan is definitely a good upgrade either way.

I like the original list, swapping Chewie and the RecSpec for Tacticians each. With those 3 points you can add an Ion Pulse Missile (and Guidance Chimps!) to the Z-95.

Care to explain how C3PO will become widely available soon? I'dd be very interested in acquiring one without the hefty ship I have no need for.
