Heavy Venom Canon and limited ability

By Ash_Durant, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest - Rules Questions

Regarding the following:

Combat Action: Attached unit, until the end of the phase, gains either (choose one): Area Effect (2) or Armorbane. (Limit once per phase.),

Is the limitation restricted to the copy of the card, to the unit, or to the ability itself?
How does this work when I have multiple copies in play on the same unit or seperately on different units?

This because I would like to know if I can stack AoE of 2 copies on the same unit or that I have to choose AoE and Armorbane to be effective in case of a single unit.

How does it work with several units?

Can I select the same keyword or do I have to give each unit a different keyword?

RRG, p. 10:

"Limits and Maximums - 'Limit once per X' is a limit that appears on cards that remain in play through the resolution of their effect. Each copy of an ability with such a limit may be used once per each period of X."

So, the limit is on how many times you can trigger the ability on that specific card (as opposed to all cards with the same name) each phase.

If you had two copies on a single unit, you could trigger each attachment 1 time to have the attached character gain two separate instances of "Area Effect (2)" (which would be treated as a single instance of "Area Effect (4)") in the same phase.
