What does everyone think of this Dash/Poe List?

By MediumPotato, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I know Corran/Dash has been around for a while, but I was interested in trying out a Dash/Poe list in some upcoming store tourneys. I haven't run a fat Dash build yet so there may be some flaws in my logic here that are in need of correction. What you all think?

Dash
Outrider Title
HLC
Predator
Recon Specialist
Engine Upgrade

Poe
PTL
BB-8
Weapons Guidance
Autothrusters

Thanks guys!

On dash you have Recon Spec, which is only good when you do the Focus action. But you have an Engine Upgrade which is only good when you do the boost action. I would consider replacing Predator with Push the Limit so you don't have to choose between these two excellent actions.

You may also have some issue with 9+ PS aces.

But it seems like a fun list. So do what you like!

Exchange Predator for PtL on Dash.

Get rid of BB-8 and change it to R2-D2. You need regen.

Kyle Katarn is currently the best crew for Dash, until Kanan Jarrus breaks the game in wave 8. Rec Spec is a decent choice though.

If you can do 58 Yard Dash, you do 58 Yard Dash (HLC, Outrider, Kyle Katarn, PTL, and Engine Upgrade). I would argue that Kyle Katarn is better than Kanan Jarrus. I would rather commit to taking green maneuvers each turn so I can have a free focus token, to modify, and be able to PTL a boost & barrel roll combo in order to avoid feeding my opponent some tasty doughnut! With Kanan Jarrus I would HAVE to spend one of my two actions on focus in order to modify my 4 attack dice and then choose boost OR barrel roll. This would mean that if you needed to boost & barrel roll in order to avoid handing out a box of doughnuts you would no longer have a modifier and we all know 4 attack dice with a modifier is better than 4 attack dice without a modifier!

Because of Poe's ability I'd recommend R5-P9 over R2-D2, it saves you a point AND still gives you shield regenerating capacity.

(Edit:) I would also recommend never flying this list with the current competitive meta. Two ships cannot hold their own against a 5 ship build consisting of at least two TLT ships...especially when one of them is a PS9 Kavil.

These are all great suggestions. I think after reviewing I will go with KK over RS. Unfortunately I don't have the rebel transport to do R5-P9 but I like the idea of R2 over BB-8 for survivability.

Despite its weakness against the TLT, I think I'm going to try it anyways. Most interested in trying something I haven't flown before.

I have run a very similar list against TLT and won, but lost the Outrider. The problem is that you have to keep the Outrider in the same area that the TLT wants you to be. I lost all of my hit points on the Outrider from TLT shots. That said, definitely R5-P9 on Poe. This is what saved me.
