Time period for Return to Hoth

By tomkat364, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

The core set rule book on page 2 specifically stated the time frame for the base campaign was 3. I have seen nothing that declares a time period for either Twin Shadows or Return to Hoth. I've checked the online version of the rule books, and nothing...

Most of us were expecting RTH to be time period 4, with the next big box to be time period 5. Now, Han's mission is usable from 2-4, and Vader's is 1-6 (IIRC), which certainly suggests that ROTJ would end time period 6, but what should we make of all this?

Did I miss the time period declaration for RTH?

It is in the hoth book. It says period 5. I don't know if it is in the online version but it is in the printed one. I didn't find any in the Twin Shadows box but you don't have to include any Side missions in twin shadows so it is of no matter there.

This is correct.

Edit: It's on page 10

RTH: Basically no side missions involving Luke or Han.

TS: No side missions

This is interesting. So between time period 4 and 5, Empire Strikes Back happens and with Vader not available in time period 7 we can assume that between 6 and 7, return of the Jedi happens. This means that the only time we'll be seeing 'future' Han is time period 7... after all he was in carbonite for longer than the movies make it feel.

So far it seems that A New Hope takes place between time period 2 and 3, Empire Strikes Back between 4 and 5, and Return of the Jedi between 6 and 7.

Good reminder. I'm hoping to start a RTH campaign on Sunday, I'll need to be careful about what side missions are allowable.

So WHAT is time period 4??? Shadows of the Empire maybe?

Well part of RoH happens during Empire Strikes Back, Hence the intro crawl and battle of hoth mission

So then time period 5 includes all of TESB and the aftermath... With time period 3 being the aftermath of ANH, what is left for time period 4 then???

My assumption is just two chunks of time between ANH and ESB.

So WHAT is time period 4??? Shadows of the Empire maybe?

Well there is a bit of time between Episode 4 and 5.

The Battle of Hoth took place 3.5 years after the destruction of the first Death Star. The new Star Wars canon EU is currently filling in this time period. Look up Marvel's "Darth Vader" (2015) and "Star Wars" (2015) comics, they are filling in what happened between the movies and are both excellent and have intertwining stories.

Vader Down has been fantastic, Chapter 5 today.
