A simple question really. If i have the Intel Officer and NK-7 equipped on a ship, which activates first or is it player choice?
Intel Officer and NK-7 Ion Battery activation order
Intel officer is first. You use it in a similar way to an accuracy. Crit effects happen in the assign damage phase which means your opponent could exhaust a defense token (use and flip to the red side) and then choose the same token to be discarded.
Intel Officer is activated before Defense Tokens are Spent , which is in Step 4 of an attack.
NK-7 is a Critical Effect, it happens at Stage 5 of an attack.
That was what I thought. makes perfect sense.
To save myself from Quoting myself, you can see the whole order of attack and how it works with Intel Officer and Token Discarders, here:

I'm still a little confused on this. correct me if I'm wrong. An attacking ship has Intel and NK-7. It rolls it's attack pool (I'm a defending AF) and exhausts Intel Officer to target my brace. I decide to use my brace and turn the 6 incoming damage to 3. I also spend redirect and move 2 of the incoming damage to my front hull. 1 of those 3 incoming was a crit. I must select to discardfrom either my unspent evade, or my exhausted redirect, right? I can't decide to select the brace for NK-7 because it was already discarded due to spending it and it being targeted by Intel Officer? With NK-7, as the defender you will always be discarding one token regardless (unless you can evade the critical effect). When combined with Intel Officer there is a chance you have to discard two if you must select the token chosen by the attacker.
Correct. You discard your Brace immediately when you elect to use it.
Also correct, unless you can get rid of all of their blue crits, you will be discarding a token of your choice, which would be the second token you discarded this turn, in your example.
You will never be able to discard a token to NK-7 that you lost to Intel Officer.
okay thanks! All clear on that one.
